So Savelio was dropped based on performance levels so far according to Smith
Seems mind blowing to me that he drops Savelio who has been one of the better performers (even after coming straight back in from injury) to bring back Lane who is & was dreadful and has been for a long while now. I get that he is trying to mix things up to see who is up to the task but think it’s been clear the majority ain’t going to change anytime soon.
Think it’s time to he gave Staveley an opportunity.
There are players still getting played that should never wear the shirt again and players sat on the sidelines that at the very least give their all when they do play. If Smith is trying to get a reaction then why not drop the lazy b@5tard5 instead and play the players that at least play like they give a 5h!t
I do agree with alot you say Chris , very similar opinions to myself, i think with Savelio he was pretty decent going forward but if you watch the game back his defensive efforts and attitude were disgraceful, flat footed and very lazy, Griffin i remember had a similar performance last year and got canned for it. Just gave up at times. It for me looked more obvious than other players which im guessing is why he got dropped.
I think the problem were having is 70 perecent of the squad now seemed to of downed tools especially players such as Savelio, Evans, Lovidua, Satae, carlos, sao who you could argue carried the team last season at times.
Ive seen alot about Staveley being a talent, ball handling skills and good size and physique for his age, remember someobe saying he d make a good loose forward, i reckon Smith while wanting to protect the young lads, knows he cant ignore them fkrever, its crucial we introduce them correctly , i think the plan would of been to introduce a few around the matchday squads this season as 18th man etc which weve seen then bring a batch through next season when weve cleared the decks. But the way this seasons unfolding i think Smiths patience may wear thin and we l see a few sooner.
Hes giving the current lot a chance, i think if your dropped and you come back and repeat your lack of efforts thatl be it and hel bring a young lad in. Id say Lanes and Evans are on very thin ice.

Just about mustered up the courage to even consider talking about Friday. Make no mistake, we are in a fight for super league survival. I’d back Wakey to beat us at the moment, yeah they’re bad, but they’re a bad squad who still at least give effort and a sh*t about the club they play for.
My biggest worry is that things won’t improve, certainly this year, I can only see them getting worse. the players have had over 6 months under Tony to show at least a change in attitudes and it’s evident to see that they are not interested.
But in saying that, I don’t understand some of Tony’s squad selections. Why pick Shaul, who hasn’t played a competive game for us in god knows how long and doesn’t even want to be here get in front a young player who’s been playing well out of position in Litten? I’d also love to know how he’s come to the consensus that out of all our back rowers, Savelio has been the worst, when Lane and Griffin have stunk the place out since the Leeds game. Fash to prop, why? for as hard as he tries he’s simply not good enough, too small to be a prop and not technically good enough to be a 13.
But regardless of the 17 players picked by Tony, if they can’t turn up and show a bit of fight in front of 20k against your rivals, then when will they?
"They supercede individuals, they supercede the team and they supercede the club. Our club is a traditional, working class club and the supporters are loyal and passionate and to see them go away happy really makes my day." Craig Sandercock.
Yes, all in it for themselves, not sure any are putting money In are they?
Can't be bothered to read through all the appointees to the new board of which I think we had five but this was the one that stood out to me.

"You could argue that’s stupid, but that’s my intention. I want kids who are eight or nine years old now to grow up watching a team they can be proud of and associate with. I think Hull needs that too. That's why I am doing this."
You can tell us none of these are here for Rovers and its all personal gain but let's look at the facts.
Where operating now at full cap for the first time in 8 years. We've completed the purchase of Craven Park, Shortly work will start on our own 3g pitch which will be one of only two in the city. The club is in the process of drawing up plans for a state of the art academy and training complex at land we now own at the stadium, along with a new West stand.
So "NO" I'd like to think and hope that Friday isn't as good as it gets. We aren't the richest, Paul Sewell stated the aim wasn't to recklessly throw money at the team but to build and improve the club and make it the best run club in the league.

Looks like The 'Lane Train' has run out of steam.. Against Hull KR, 4 carries for a Grand Total of 15 metres..

So in terms of tangible, visible changes that have taken place since the ground purchase over a year ago it's that you're now spending at full cap, and the rest is "chat & plans" like Rob Crossland and Jamie Peacock of old?

Have you an opinion on the financial aspect of your club? Would you care to comment on financial statistics? Summary:
Loss for the year c650k Cash erosion c400k New borrowing c500k Technically insolvent Cash run rate <12m Liquidity ratio c0.44 (excluding accrued income)
Note that Tax creditor has jumped significantly which could indicate entering into a TTP arrangement with HMRC
I for one couldn't care less about that hovel that they play in or the toilet that surrounds it, it's nothing to do with us so I don't get why they're talking about it on here.

I don't see it's materially different from previous years, it's dire.
