Because otherwise it's poor salary cap management and you end up with a squad full of 25 average players again.
Welcome to 2012
Berrigan's advice to Seymour "There's a great bar in Hessle, and even though you earn £140k a year they fall over themselves to buy your beer, just ask if JB is in, he'll show you the ropes"

When we signed Obst we only wanted to give him a year but he wouldn't come for less than 2. I reckon we will try and offload him, as clearly he will be surpluss to requirements
McKinnon will miss lots of games with his dodgy hamstrings and I think Agar will use Horne as his reserve fullback, so Obst will then be the reserve halfback, given the fact that his game is years ahead of Ellis.
I love Jamie and have done since he was 10 years old.

The Rugby Football League are in the process of reviewing the video that you are referring to. We do not condone behaviour of this nature and have contacted the player’s employer, Hull F.C., who have confirmed that they are dealing with the incident under their club rules.

I really hope not, Ellis and Nicklas are halfback's Obst isn't.
Think one you have exemption you dont count on either, so Obst won't count on either, not that it seems to matter anymore as looking at the SL website, if seems that all they care about now is the non Fed trained area, quota doesn't meaning anything anymore.
Obst must have a EU passport though to claim exemption.
Nope. The exemption only removes a player from the Non Fed list, and anyone can apply regardless of passport provided they were in SL before 2008.

It would be a option.
Personnely I'd have Whiting covering fb,if Hornes fit he plays 6.

I agree. Horne has done ok this season and is worth another year. We should try and sell Obst if possible, I think he's a decent player and a really good guy to have around the place due to his enthusiasm/he seems like a good laugh, but there's no place for sentiment in sport.
Also, the HDM suggests Long would be willing to stay on a pay-as-you-play deal. Any takers?

I'd be happy with either Whiting or Horne covering fullback. I think both those players are taken for granted to some extent by Hull fans. I think we'd appreciate them more watching them play for other teams.
Regarding Ellis, at this stage of his career he is nowhere near as good as Obst at anything other than kicking. I think it's important we don't big him up into something he isn't before he's here. Such expectations have ruined many a player for us!
