The only evidence I can find of the Dean Hawkins rumour are the anonymous edits (from a Hull address) to his Wikipedia page. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dean_Hawkins He is being shopped around but I can't see how a kid with 3 appearances could get a visa

With the academy top of their league above the likes of Saints, Leeds and Wigan who all have top academy's.

My question is surely there's some out of our academy who will be shortly ready for an opportunity.

We have Balmforth, Litten, Barron, Burrell, Hookem, Severs, Staveley and Laidlow all making noises on the academy and reserves, we may not need to buy a ton of players if we're brave and bring them through.

We might be getting carried away with the French rumour. Found this on the Wigan Warriors forum

Agree need to focus on the youth.

We were skint at the end of the 90s and gave some young kids called Horne, Cooke and King (and later Yeaman) a go and look where that got us.

We won't sign French and if Connor goes we are in big trouble as I have no confidence in Hodgson recruiting a good enough replacement.
