I am fairly happy with this signing . He's been winning games for saints for ages and we know he still can do the business .

i think its a top buy in my opinion great kicking game and runs some great lines. Maybe the start of something new and good at this club! Adds a bit of spice for fridays game. I can imagine a round of "theres only one sean long" Around the KC stadium!

I'm not convinced that the arrival of Long alone will bring that but I'd be happy to be proven wrong.

No, I don't mean the arrival of Long would make that happen. It needs a big attitude change in our coaching, and then to be implemented properly. All I'm saying is that if we did get that change, we don't need a great deal of players to come in for us play an open style of rugby. Admittedly we're a few short of being able to match Saints and Leeds for it, but if we're honest we're now at the stage where we need to catch the likes of Hudds and Rovers in terms of attacking ability, which these changes could do IMO.

Us real fans don't look over our shoulder at our neighbours and do whatever we can to get one over on them. We look at the bigger picture. And this is the reason why Rovers are and will forever be considered a small club. Because their fans and board would rather get one over on Hull FC above anything else.

Quite sad, really!

SPOT ON!

Good signing, hopefully a few more to go with him. Huge improvement on Thorman. Long is still one of, if not the best SH in the league for me and I think GB look much worse without him.

He's exactly what we needed, an experienced player whose kicking game, passing game and organisational skills are all top-notch and I for one hate him when he plays against us. Hopefully we get a world class 6 or 1 aswell as a prop (Lynch would be another great signing)

Interesting how our new signings both say that it was their discussions with Richard Agar about the way forward with the club that persuaded them to put pen to paper.

Hopefully agar's told them both he's leaving before next season then.

In 2 minds about this signing. Great player in his day but his best days are behind him and he's struggled with injuries in the last couple of years. Other issue is if we don't change our style of play he'll be a waste of money. It's easy to look goo behind a dominant saints pack with willing runners all over the place but with our pack and lack of runners he'll struggle IMO. Nothing against him as I believe any scrum 1/2 will struggle whilst laurel and hardy are in charge.

Also interesting that none of the ozzie scrum 1/2's we've enquired about have agreed to come over (for us!)

Suzie, I agree with you and luckily for us the club do not see Horney as a fullback.
The club are already in talks with a full back and if it comes off it will be HUGE !!
Before anyone asks how do I know this. Lets just say I knew about Longy last week and told you all, hence posting the below.

So .... are FC in the HUNT for a new fullback?

I've heard the same one as the brother. They were going to wait to announce it but are releasing it today due to the pressure on the club. Biggest signing since Sterling without a doubt

Not really a great signing for me. At 32 he is past his best and will be more prone to injury (He will fit in well then)
However it is good to see they have signed a player in a position we have been lacking in all season.
