The concern, for me anyway, is that we have lost our most effective go forward prop, line breaking second rower, brilliant scrum half and try scoring winger. So, rightly or wrongly, that has me worried. We have endured a poor season, with those players on board, therefore , to progress, we'd need to be looking at better, unless we have McMeeken and Davies, I don't see where else n the British game, that standard is available, and if you know that we have, that explains why you're not concerned, but not everyone is privvy to that information.

We panicked and rushed into signing Fonua, Reynolds, Gale, Evans on multi year deals recently.

Let's see what happens with a different approach this time, with an experienced head coach.

It's scandalous the amount of money we burned (including pay-offs) on those signings.

Schrödinger’s recruitment cycle, isn’t it?

Coming at it from the opposite perspective of wishing it to be rubbish, and that the financial concerns that Pearson flagged last year will constrain spending - while it is quiet, hope remains. It is only July, but you’ve already got a pretty clear idea of who is off. Incoming, only Tindall and Ashworth so far.

I’m always prepared for disappointment, but there’s nothing in your post to make it start now - so I can see why Hull fans aren’t reassured.
If you know who the other British players are and they’re good, i get why you’re happy enough - but from what is in the public domain, you really can’t see why some Hull fans are getting a little skittish?

I’d rather miss out on a player, rather than sign the wrong one on a multi year deal.
