For what it's worth my take on the appointment of Andy Last is that it is a decent and sensible one. We have a mammoth task as a club in rebuilding and have (on paper) an excellent Head Coach coming in but doesn't have the first hand knowledge of the club or SL. Last is a well respected and highly regarded Coach who ticks those boxes and should prove to be an asset to Cartwright as an assistant. In all fairness to Last he did a decent job as interim Coach after Radford was sacked, as an example he has been the only Coach to understand that to get the best out of Houghton was to spell him.
As Pete has said Lasty is black & white through & through and to come back shows the club still means a lot to him.
I, like others have mentioned wonder whether Grix will still be at the club come the start of preseason and a new broom is to be swept through. Still unsure on Grix as a Coach, he has been dropped in at the deep end so it was always a thankless task. That said his connection to Smith shortly after his sacking was understandable at the time but feel he has not learned and still is very much in the Smith school of thought which I think is evident in the displays we've seen and he's intimated as much about still asking him for advice.
