You could well be right but even if we do bring a stand off in I'd like to see a youngster getting some game time at half back as we shouldn't be keeping Gale on unless he has a dramatic upturn in form.

For the first time in years we are producing a significant number of academy players who look capable of making the step up. Some need to be given a chance sooner rather than later because if not they'll stagnate or be picked up elsewhere.

Long term even if we do spend the full cap we will not challenge the likes Saints or Wigan unless we produce a stream of homegrown quality.

A moot point now but was it ever confirmed that he was Hodgson's signing, or had the club been chasing him prior to the appointment? It was very quick, signing announced just over a week after BH was appointed.

Fair point COYH. I always thought it was a Hodgson signing but even if it was before he was officially appointed I would have thought the club would have sought his advice given his relationship with Pearson.

i agree
They should if possible be brought in to a winning confident team.
You cant bring in two or three together.
One at a time and possibly one on the bench

Think Hodgson wanted him and Gale to have a good run together to see how they went. If he wasn't a marquee player and wasn't Hodgson's signing he may well have gone before. Maybe Pearson and Clark had to step in?

You've really got to question his judgement in signing him in the first place. Even more worrying that he was on the Wests coaching staff.

Could be right but If Pearson and Clark made the decision it undermines Hodgson even if it's the right thing to do.

2016 our was our most successful season for years. CC winners. 3rd in SL and one game away from the final.

All homegrown no superstars but all contributed to our success. Plus Taylor who was desperate to play for the club.
