Well done Agar for backing him. I hope Hame continues to play in exactly the same way he has being doing, defending himself when he needs to.

Re: Agar backs Lauaki : Thu Apr 08, 2010 10:36 am
The only people to blame are Lauaki himself, and to a lesser degree, the refs.

The refs need to give the guy some protection, constant niggling/cheap shots that aren't being penalised would begin to wind any player up.

Ultimatley it's Lauaki himself who needs to keep his cool and get some self disclipline. In every game he's played he's been shown up as an easy guy to wind up.

I don't blame Rovers one bit for trying to get a reaction from him. If Lauaki played for Rovers I'd expect our players to go out there and wind him up, gaining penalty after penalty, as it's so easy to do.

What a load of old tosh. You cannot pick up one thing for losing a game unless that thing happened in the dying seconds. If you had scored the last quarter of the game would have been a different game.

As for Agars comments I agree with them and Lauaki has not really got such a bad record regarding penalties.

Totally agree. Deserves credit for publically backing his player as a good coach should, and in a way that comes across well IMO.

If you had played rugby, moved the ball out wide and kicked to the corners instead of niggling and trying to beat us up you may well have won. Morgan clearly got his game plan wrong.

We had enough field position to put the game to bed, we seem incapable of moving the ball out wide (at pace) and having meaningful kicks to the corners this year. In games in which we have been far less intense in we have still failed to score many points, and thats against far worse sides definsively than FC.

I'm sure if you had warrington and we had quins it would have been different.

What do you win for achieving the same as us with easier fixtures????

If you argue that FC are a far superior side than KR making the 2 rounds more comparable, I will give you that one.

What he said.

Enjoyed this thread, especially the bit "we lost the game from a SLIGHT knock-on" Priceless

Is this the same player that hit Dobson late, twice in the friendly?

Well done Agar for backing him.

Especially like the comment about the 'accidental' elbow to his head.

It was a knock on, only a slight one at that. It shows the fine margins on how a game can be won or lost.

How can a knock on be 'slight'? It's either knocked on or it isn't. It's like saying it was a 'slight' try, or a 'slight' 40/20.

You lot lost, get over it. We were the better team, you could not penetrate our awesome defence, and the only way you could handle Lauaki was to either albow him in the tackle in his head, head butt him, drag his neck back, or have 3-4 men on him and still a late man comes on with the elbow! He still knocked half of them on their arses!

Well done Agar for defending him, saying exactly the truth.
