In one way, the fact that King wasn't brought back on was as positive a sign as any about our coaching staff changing their approach from last season IMO. Hopefully it's a sign of a continued approach where substitutions will be made by taking into account what's happening on the field rather than just for the sake of it, as it seemed we did last year.

Spot-on. I'm also hoping we improve our use of Manu off the bench. It must have been a good 7 or 8 minutes after he came on before he touched the ball, not exactly an impact substitution if he doesn't see the ball.

Kingy could go in the reserves for me but we dont have better. See how he goes v Celtic.

It seems like a few players are between a rock and a hard place! They need Super League rugby to get up to speed but their performances are off the pace.

Its the start of the season and most teams have the same issues including Celtic (possibly more then most!) so as Agar stated we should play horses for courses to get the 2 points and hopefully build confidence and fitness in doing this.

It was Kingy`s first competitive game since Catalans last year.
Up until his injury in 2008 he was our best forward.

Wrong.

He was the best of a bad bunch of Props for the first 6-7 weeks of the season.

Washbrook, Berrigan and Manu were all better than King all of last season when they played.

Overall, Thackray was our best prop last season imo

Think King can also often give off a false view of performing well because of his aggression and is 'localness' if thats even a word. Trying to put in 3 big hits and get the crowd up doesnt mean he has played well, but often thats all that is remembered about his performances.

Hope he told Sharpy to remember that it's the passion that we fans love, maybe he's forgot, afterall he's been off away from FC whilst Kingy is still here. Hope you remember what the fans of FC want Sharpy and stop trying to quell it in our lads. You keep on with that passion Kingy, and remember, we fans keep on remembering all of you players (well the one's that warrant all these re-union dinners etc). With a bit of luck and the lads, as well as coaches remembering this is a TEAM game, we may wll have a lot more reunions in the future to commemorate!!!! No cliques in our team remember, not like the split in the team that went over to Oz........grannyfan Cindy

Sorry Cindy your way off the mark, yes we love passion, but discipline is a major part too and for too many years a lot of our players have been getting it easy off the field.

King was below the mark on Friday and im sure he'll admit that himself. Will gove him a few games to get upto speed and then judge him from there on

Thackray made his debut last season in France. King was injured in the same match.
Manu was very inconsistant and for me this season needs to improve and show more impact and aggression. Berro played the majority of 2008 at halfback.

Not a massive fan of King and I thought he was poor on Friday. With the opposition for Saturday hardly World Class (not that we should underestimate them at all, we can't afford to do that), Maloney may get a chance and if that happened, I would be pleased
