Vete is a joke, he'd barely been on long and didnt even bother to run back and get into the Cas line and just stood chilling in the FC line

Had a message last night from the sponsor guy who i know and he said he'd had a good chat with James Clark after the game.

He told him that they have signed 2 more British players last week alongside Ashworth and Tindall.
They've held talks with Houghton about playing on next season and at the moment he's 50/50.
Currently in talks with two Australian hookers and are in the later stages of negotiations with an Australian Scrum half.
Hoping to complete a deal for the player they see as Satae's replacement this coming week.
Say he's bigger and stronger than Satae but very raw.

They offered Clifford 3x his current salary to stay.

I'll be taking all that with a punch of salt, but if true then all sounds pretty positive. Fingers crossed.
But while I know teams try and keep things close to their chest in the local papers, I'd be surprised if we're already in latter stages of negotiations either a half back considering it's not even been a week since Clifford confirmed he was leaving, and Smith has said a few times in the papers we won't be rushing into anything for his replacement just yet.

Let's face it, player announcements for next year are usually, and not only at our club, drip fed in when results aren't so good. I think we're something like 8 SL wins in the last 11 so we just haven't needed to. Smith has already said deals are done; back row a big question though as Savelio's fitness record remains a huge concern.

Not sure about renewing Savelio. Can’t see the fitness issues improving as time goes on.

Think we’d be better using the money elsewhere.
