I think this Clifford debacle with result in Pearson investing heavily. He was willing to double cliffs wage who was already our highest earner.

4 quota spots should make a huge difference to our side. Especially when 2 of them are going to be 100x better than their predecessors.

I think we should be taking punt with players like Bentley. He would have to take a massive pay cut so it would be good. Then add some performance based bonuses and we’re laughing.

I’m still hoping Davies and Mcmeeken will be available as we really need them.

Sign those 3 on top of ashworth and tins all , 4 quota players and then maybe a punt or 2 from the championship.

Theo fage is signing for Catalan, I know his stocks fallen but he wouldn’t have been a bad shout and non quota

Good interview with Smith about Clifford, sounds like the Cowboys were the only club he would have left for, which I don't think is a suprise.

You don’t offer to pretty much double your highest earners wage if you want to spend less though. I imagine next year we will be at full cap but probably won’t utilize the loop holes unless someone invests

I thought it meant our offer was double what Queensland would be paying him , not we’ve offered to double his pay now .

Exactly. We've saved 95k off Evans wage alone, let alone Swift, Satae and Griffin who were on very strong wages. You reckon tindall, will ge on anything close to Swift? Still saving money even if we give Clifford an extra 50k

I like Smith's words in Hull Daily Mail.
Absolutely gutted to be losing Cliff but I feel positive that Smith will get things right and sign a capable replacement.
