Its all well and good whinging about retaining players but there have to be players available of comparable quality to replace them. We were short of forwards this year as it is with the general opinion that we need one more, so say we got rid of Bowden, Taylor and Masi as some are suggesting that would leave us needing to recruit 4 forwards. Can't see that happening, can you?
He wasn't terrible last year just playing in a well beaten side and he came with big expectations, add to that , along with most overseas players landing last year, he came to England in a year of massive pandemic disruption and settling into the country with families etc mustve been a nightmare. The number of overseas player who hit the ground running are in the minority. He was the scapegoat for a lot of fans last year and it was pretty unjustified in my view
To be fair that is a reasonable point referencing the pandemic.
If we're retaining Matongo it's a farce, you won't sell passes on the back of decisions like this, it's a drain on wages with no return
Let Burrell, brown etc get gametime in the reserves not players like Matongo who are always injured and pushing what 25/26 now
Completely agree, Masi isn't young and up and coming anymore, should be in his prime. He needs to drop down to the Championship, get some game time and go from there.

Were obviously not getting rid of Taylor.......
Bowden yes I'd like to think so, but is also injured or ineffective Matongo how do you even count him as a body he never plays, prove me wrong.
Give me 1 effective prop over 2 that barely play or do anything, your arguments flawed.
Taylor, Satae, Sao, Brown, Fash
Add 2 more helped funded by Bowden and Matongo wages is enough, rumour is we've signed one as it is, so if getting rid of Bowden and Matongo allows us to add another, great stuff, it's not as dramatic as your making out........
Would anyone take Ebon Scurr and possible lesson ah mau, over Bowden and Matongo I think you'd be an idiot not too

Add in Scurr or another young forward and an overseas prop and we will be fine at prop.
If we can get Taylor fit, it would be a massive boost, looked back to his best in the first few games of the season before his injury.

I don't disagree. I know we aren't getting rid of Taylor but some posters would in a heartbeat. Bowden needs to go as he is ineffective as it stands and we haven't seen Matongo for the better part of two years.
I suppose its just the hyperbole that gets thrown about that annoys me. Describing stuff as a farce or a disgrace or whatever when we really have no clue as the feasibility of making changes.

That we need changes I think we can all agree.
I agree people are very sensitive on here, and use all manner of dramatisms. I don't think our current predicament, describing injury prone, ineffective players getting new contracts as a farce is hyberbole at all, the clubs in a hole for a reason, fans have every right to get annoyed when the same mistakes are rumoured to be repeated
