I understand that it's disappointing but we have to bear in mind that this was Last's first ever game as a head coach.
He's going to take time to get used to the role and make the adjustments he's been talking about in the press.
AP has indicated he's got until at least the end of the season so I think we owe him a duty to get behind him and not write him off before he's had a fair crack of the whip.
Hopefully things will pick up over the next week or two and at the end of the season he will be able to clear out a few, that TBF should have gone a while ago, and really make it his team.

What an odd statement...we weren't playing Saints and thus there is absolutely zero logic in the above statement.

"I am just glad that we weren't playing the Brazil 1970 World Cup team in Mexico City at football..." makes about as much sense.

it's not an odd statement, Saints are arguably a better team than Salford, there's a high likelihood we would have unravelled even earlier against a better team and shipped even more points. Not always going to happen as we know, each game is different, but allowing for the fact we have been bang average for some period and based on that performance and what Saints have done after the season restart then it's a perfectly logical assumption we would have had more points put against us!

Your Brasil analogy to denounce the previous poster has zero logic in it, unlike the previous posters, soccer is a different sport and a team that are either in their late 70s/early 80s or have passed away, utterly dumb comparison!

It's all he does. He never raises any points or discusses issues, he just trolls posters.

We OWE Last absolutely nothing, it's this out of date faux loyalty that makes us less effective and sticking to players/staff that will continue to mean we don't get the right staff on/off the field and thus not getting results.

Last has been at the club for over a decade in a coaching capacity, the lead youth team coach and assistant at a top tier club for years, he's apparently being stricter with the players https://www.totalrl.com/hull-players-fa ... ng-regime/ with apparent approval from the captain and others, he's had plenty of experience in a coaching capacity so excuses on the basis its his 'first game as head coach' , it simply doesn't wash!

From TRL

The interim coach revealed last week that he had implemented a system of fines to ensure the Black and Whites’ playing squad were being held accountable for their actions on a daily basis.

Houghton, who admitted to falling foul of the system already, said it had helped instil a different environment within the camp.

“That was one of the biggest things that needed to change,” Houghton said.

“I think everyone’s application and how they’re going about things is top-drawer at the moment.

“We’re only in our second week of training, so that’s going to be the test, when boys start getting tired and fatigued later in the year; that’s when the standards need to be kept high and the senior boys need to drive those standards and make sure we don’t slip, because we’ve tended to slip too often in previous years.

“It’s a big thing moving forward for this group to get to the next level and competing where we were.”

When asked to elaborate on punishable offences, team-mate Josh Griffin butted in and said: “Breathing!”

“Yeah, you’re not allowed to breathe in camp so that’s a big problem for all the boys,” Houghton joked.

“But no, just tightening things up really, not leaving things lying about, not being late for appointments, being on time for training, all those small things.

“We’re just trying to tighten all those little areas to make us more accountable for what we do on a daily basis, rather than letting small things that don’t count too much slip in, which in the past has maybe had an effect on the field.

“It’s been good and the boys have bought into the changes.”

The more that comes out, reading between the lines it looks like Radford was too cosy with some members of the first team squad.
I don’t see this fine thing as a positive. I find it depressing that’s it’s needed at all.
I think the attitude at the club is actually worse than I thought it was. I thought naively that changing the coach would bring a new direction. The problems seem entrenched, and have been allowed to become part of the culture of the club.

As I said. I understand the frustration but Pearson has said that the coffers are empty and as a consequence AL will get his chance to stake his claim for the job.
We are where we are. If AL doesn't deliver the goods we might not have a club next year so I'm praying he can turn it around.

No relegation, may as well write this season off. Offload the uninterested, and blood some youngsters fo the rest of the season. Get Wynne, Johnstone and Brown in the team.

With Taylor out, I couldn't believe Brown missed out.

I responded because you said that "we have to bear in mind" (the result) because it was his first time as head coach and getting used to being in charge, sorry but IMO that really doesn't cut it as an excuse for that performance, not since the noises coming out the club as I linked to.
What 'coffers'? Is Pearson stating that he has no money personally, it's his company right, he's basically then said -by saying there's no money in the coffers, that he no longer wants to invest in the company he owns.
Clever move, basically showing us he now has lost interest in the club and cutting his losses, that attitude of no money (after piddling away a ton on players like Fonua that we didn't need) will never see us move forward.

His gamble of employing an inexperienced ex player as a coach has cost him massively - so much so there's apparently no money and no interest in financially wanting to invest, consistently poor results, unhappy fans that are less likely to buy into the club because of those performances, it's cost us the fans in terms of a long term strategy/future.
Boom and bust has never being the way for long term success both sporting and finance wise, yeah two CC wins were great but critical mistakes have cost the club/fans of so much more. Hanging onto Last as an economic solution just tells me all I need to know about where Pearson is with the club.

We cannot just write the season off. The club needs to encourage supporters to renew their memberships for 2021. People have not attended games since March and many will have got into the habit of not going and of spending their cash elsewhere (and many will be losing their jobs of course).

It's going to be a challenge for all clubs to get people to buy memberships/season tickets with blind faith that we will be able to see games in person. If we write the season off and finish in the bottom four it'll be even harder.

Furthermore it's easier said than done offloading players who are under contract.

They're not helping themselves by taking part in divisive political stunts.

Surely playing rubbish, consistently is a breach of contract and a sackable offence?
