oh for a halfback pairing of kelly and sneyd,or a back 3 of mini,manu and ellis.sad how far we have gone backwards since 2017

I don't think we quite appreciated at the time just how good that team was. 1-17 we had proper quality and threat throughout. I genuinely went into every single game thinking "if we play to our ability they cant beat us." The two cups were great, but we really should have had another trophy or two to show for those 2016/17 teams.

2018 was the start of the decline when we only brought in Fariamo, Paea and westerman midway through the season, then 2019 when we only signed Matty Dawson Jones, Danny Langtree and Levy Nzonghou, those two years we rested on our laurels not trying to further improve the team

Is that really the only signings we made in 2019?!

I actually had to Google Danny Langtree. Don't remember him at all.

For reasons unknown we decided to sign players just for the reserve team no team has done that before or since...

I can't remember what year Motu Tony left but recruitment hasn't been the same since.

We signed Naulago for 2019. Savelio came but only played a handful of games and Satae played a few late in the year.

We released a few during the season though - Litten, Hadley, Thompson, Langtree and Miloudi.

Maybe I missed a few but I just remember that years recruitment being really poor when they were hyping up Dawson Jones and Langtree as our main signings that season.

No you were right - Naulago was a trialist who turned out a diamond and Savelio and Satae late signings.

Dawson-Jones scored on his debut at CP, got injured and never played for us again. Nzoungou made one appearance off the bench and Langtree didn't play at all. The recruitment was just scattergun.
