Grix mentioned after the Huddersfield game that DH has been struggling for weeks, partly due to his age, and yet we still persist in flogging him every game. That's not doing either the man or the team any good. So I can't help but feel that there needs to be a parting of the ways now because it just feels like no one at the club is strong enough to go with a different approach and manage his game time better. I have all the respect in the world for the man and what he has accomplished at the club but it's time for a change.

Houghton is going to end up with some long term damage to his body if he tries to go on. I can't see it myself, he seemed fairly set on retiring before this season but got the feeling he went around again as we had no other hooking options at the time

That was Smith though, plus I'm not sure he really wanted to be here.

I'd be suprised if we don't sign Paix.

I always wondered if we would look at Nick O Meley, centre who would be off quota.

O 'Meley was shipped around SL a couple of seasons ago . Good spot about Fed trained aswell.

He’s a handy utility player who‘s done a bit of 9 off the bench but seemed to have played most of his lower grade career at 6 or 7 and was brought in specifically to replace Clifford. I think in better circumstances he’d have maybe done alright but was always a bit of a gamble because he was never really established as a regular in any position in the NRL.

I don’t think he’d have been our long term answer at 9 to be honest. It was crazy to let him go without a replacement but if we bring in a decent specialist 7 or 9 now (I’m sceptical it’s not just the same old bluster) then it’s for the best.
