I was told last week that he has signed a new contract...came from a sponsor. Guess until anything is announced, with any player, then we need to take it with a pinch of salt

I did hear someone last night saying he'd been told yesterday morning he wasn't being offered a new deal but then I've also heard he has got a new deal so which is right I've no idea.

Despite his ban I think he'd certainly be worth a year deal with a 2nd in the clubs favour as in fairness he's been pretty very good in the 2nd row and its slim pickings in the current market

Griff is our only player who consistently breaks the line. I know it's a low bar but he has stood out in recent games. If we don't have anyone lined up then I'd give him a new deal. If he promises to keep his gob shut.

I'd definitely look at giving Griffin another year, he's really stepped it up this year and given the lack of quality British forwards available I can't see a downside to him having another year on reduced terms.

Griffin deserves 1 year
Houghton 1 year
Savelio 2 years (if he stay fit)
Tag 1 year (which he’s been offered according to his business manager)

We need to start integrating Balmforth this season and look for a quota hooker. Last night showed the impact of a specialist hooker.. Houghton vs Knowles.

Does he become an better hooker than Houghton because he’s got caps for England

I don’t think Tony smith type of person to pull a contract for that.

The way I see it is, it’s silly by griffin but a freak ban that won’t happen again. At his age having 6 weeks out will do his body wonders.
