I think he may have played for 2, 3 if he joins us but I wasn't meaning in the literal sense but the completely average aussie sense. Yes, he's solid but he won't pull up any trees, will cost a wedge and a quota spot and block the path of our best junior prospect for the next 3 years

Don't see the problem with retaining Horne, had a good year this year, just keep him away from kicking long. Also, we can't have a team full of O'Meleys, you need strength in depth that have played Super League, especially on the money Dowesy will be on, and be happy sitting on the sidelines.

If we're looking at centres from outside we could have gone in for Mellars, who wouldn't have needed a quota spot. Personally, if we couldn't get hold of someone with genuine class I'd sooner see us go with Whiting and show a bit of faith in Sharp on the wing instead of just letting him be the latest in the firing line on our right side issues. The pack is still where I think our most urgent deficiencies are looking like being next year.

Always a hard call. Imo he is a more highly rated player in the nrl than Carmont was but look how well he has gone in SL.

The signing of O'Carroll I don't understand. Play our youngsters.

I think you start the season with Whiting and if Crooks' form or injuries warrant it, give him a chance and see if he takes it.

Only issue with Crooks is asking an 18 year old to play in our troubled right centre spot is asking a lot.

Most people I've asked have said next season will be too soon.

IMO if he's so strongly fancied as a prospect he should be on a dual contract with a decent NL club next year. Ideally, he won't be used next season other than if his form demands it, and preferably that would be towards the end of the season after he's gained a bit more experience. All you can do is give him a few games and see how he does.

I've always said I'm not convinced by Turner as a first choice centre, but for next season he'd be decent backup for Whiting. If we can see a little of Crooks next year and he does ok though, we may be able to cut Turner loose at the end of his contract.

Eamon O'Caroll FFS, it's enough to make me have nightmares, would rather have Eamonn Holmes or Carol Vorderman, potential spelling mistakes and all. He would steamroller the opposition and she would keep check of the interchanges for our head coach.

I think turner has improved a lot at centre since he's had a run there. I hope whiting will go into the back row where he should be playing IMO
