If Clifford does go I hope we don't just chuck money at a big name for the sake of it. If there's no one suitable I'd rather go with Hoy in the halves and give Litten the 1 shirt.

People agree that Kelly was better than Clifford so that proves straight away he's very replaceable

Agree thought hoy looked decent at half back seemed more of a threat in attack and his kicking was decent enough aswell

Need to spend money on the pack more than halfs imo

Given the quality of the NRL stars, South Sea Islanders and New Zealand players, I wouldn't say there is one "world class" SL based halfback, but of the one's plying their trade over here, Clifford is definitely a standout and would be very hard to replace , like for like , no doubt. Kelly was great, the fact that we replaced him with another class halfback is to the Club's credit, Clifford was as good as we could have got, in my opinion and to lose him, when our playbook will be based on his game, would be a bitter blow.

What are you talking about, world class, who is SL is world class, look at French and Field two of the best SL players, neither would be near the best players in the NRL.

Clifford would not be impossible but very very hard to replace, i think he is actually a better all-round player than Kelly, certainly more consistent, imagine Clifford behind our 2016/17 pack

French yes but Field has very little except exceptional speed. His rugby awareness and passing are not top notch even in SL never mind the NRL.

Probs would have about 6 or 7 half backs are better in super league still let alone nrl
