Given the perilous situations of our pack and, boringly, our halves (how long?), we don't have much choice. Gale does play SH as well as OH so would be the only real alternative to Miller, and Carvell has had a good, relatively injury-free run at Wire. Seems a good idea with the options we have. Unless we have irons in other fires yet to be revealed.

Question is, why are we only now starting to address these issues? Has Radford been too optomistic in settling for the squad he had? Has closed-season training exposed gaping holes? Doesn't bode brilliantly for Radford's judgement if so. Shouldn't be scrabbling round at this stage.

If it comes off, yes, he still has plenty of miles on the clock, expect we would see 2 seasons out of him minimum. If it had been the option 4 months ago of Feka or Carvell I would have taken Carvell

Only concern would be injuries, but during his time at Wire he has a had a good run

Gale is an interesting one that has taken some time to get up a head of steam but he might want to come to Hull he did when we offered a transfer fee for him before we signed Rankin, but ironically Bradford turned us down although they were being kept going by RL funds, something that I would expect proved pretty ironic as far as our administration are concerned.

All I know about Gale is that last Wednesday two West Riding based Journalists who are well respected (or disrespected depending your views) told me that we had gone back for him.
