Both of these signings would have been great for you guys 3/4 years ago but now they are just stop gaps that are surplus to requirements at their current clubs.
If Saints really thought Long was upto it for 2 more years they would have given him the deal as Long did not want to leave.

Nothing to do with him "not being good enough". Regardless of who'd signed him. The fact that othe clubs were apparently after him speaks volumes |

Similar things were said when we signed Fozzard but he's given no less than 100% in every game he's played. I wouldn't expect any different from Long either, that crop of Saints players are winners. |

| Not really the 7 I hoped for, however he is proven, broke a few hearts I hope he can break a few over the next 2 seasons and lead our boys around the park.So welcome Sean.
I think we need a couple more signings to restore confidence in the fans and place bums on seats, it appears our club are progressing in a positive way  |

Considering our present 7 is Chris Thorman I find it hard to criticise this signing. I look forward to seeing Long in a Hull shirt next season.

Nope. I mean one quarter. Read the Saints press release - they are committed to bringing the kids (Eastmond) through. They only wanted Long for a transitional period where he gradually gives way to Eastmond. At most he would have started half a season, with Eastmond playing the other. |
