I’ve not watched it back, but on the Griffin incident, it seemed obvious he was incapacitated, and the time lapse for the Frenchman sneakily scoring felt like slow motion, was it just my imagination, or could the referee have stopped the game immediately for our players welfare.
Connor can be annoying but I see little difference between him and Scarsbrook in their approach to the game, except the latter doesn’t get penalised as much. Scarsbrook consistently talks back to the referee. He has hands all over the ball player at the play the ball. Even when marker when the opposition are restarting after, say, a knock on he has hands on the man with the ball. Referees just ignore this. Best team won but with a fair share of luck and some favourable runs of decisions from the ref. As soon as Hull got some similar decisions - when Saints were three scores up and after 50 minutes - we scored. Hull should have been more composed with the ball in hand but they were the ones having to push the game after the above.
Main difference is LMS (at best) is an above average plodding forward, he’s not being touted as potentially one of the best backs and a superstar in the League. Connor has the skill and level of intelligence (maybe) to not have to play these little games.....

Every player and ex player, your coach and every neutral fan has agreed that playing to the whistle was the right thing for Fages to do, however the Referee could have blown and stopped the game so your issue is with him, not Fages. There was nothing sneaky about it, he just did his job as a professional sportsman.

It was very sneaky, it reminded me of Pepe le Pew.

The only 2 options for the Ref, were play on or rule a knock on. In hindsight, the sporting option would be the knock on. The game rested on 2 similar incidents, I thought the Griffin one was very unlucky, he looked to have broken their line and had Swift outside him and probably would have scored, but they got the try. The second was obviously the interception, in the build up to it, from an excellent 40/20, the ball went through all of the spines hands to create an overlap, and a probable try but Grace intercepts, they score and win. The noise and support was fantastic and thanks to the team for an incredible fight back, as another poster said, to get back to within 3 points was unbelievable, I for one was proud to be there, as a Black and White, of the support and team

It was a terrific semi, full of incredible incidents, we were moments from winning it. Glad you got your tickets
Fages did nothing wrong. It was play on. I would have expected a Hull player to do the same thing had the roles been reversed. It was a very unfortunate incident for us but that's sport.
Fages had to take advantage and score the try, you play to the whistle.
100% correct. I really can't see how you can argue otherwise. Let's just hope Griffin's injury isn't as bad as it looked.
We didn't lose the game because of that incident in any case. Saints were just a bit better on the day.
Gutted that we lost after that brilliant fightback. The main plus for me is that we appear to be very close to being a real challenger for honours, especially when BH starts rebuilding the team. Hope Griffo is soon back in action.

Griffen clearly pulls up in agony, there are Sts players waving at the ref if Fages stops the play everyone would be saying great sportsmanship but he didn't so what does that say.
People screamed to let Connor be FB. Now some are on his back already. How many times did we hear when the ball comes to Shaul our attack stops. So now we have a FB who can create tries with his passing of which he has on numerous times this season. Sometimes it doesn't come off that goes with the territory. I for one hope he continues in the same path. I think it's clear we need a couple of players added to this squad. Reynolds again very quiet until the last 20 when he showed what he can do. Am hoping he can carry that on. So on to Cas. Both teams will be physically and mentally tired. So up to us to get stuck in early and hopefully bring the points home.
The game aside, and it’s not a popular opinion but I have sympathy for Griffin. The studio, I just wanted to turn it off. This stigma of “protecting the ball at all costs” just because your a hard, tough rugby player is such a dangerous concept. When did player welfare jump out of the window ? love the ball. You could clearly see Griffin go down in absolute agony. He didn’t offload or try to pass the ball, his release was clearly a response to a very serious injury. You could tell when he was 8-10 yards away from the saints players how bad it was.
The studio were not concerned about Griffin but instead went in on him for dropping the ball. Not a fan. I like saints as a team and Theo too, and really enjoyed the game. Really liking the direction Hull are taking and best of luck for the rest of the season. Your a noisy bunch
