Motto of the week -

It is the way of the weak to secretly bleat to those in authority rather than fight their own battles.

I'd say he's much more iffy, plus he's worse positionally in defence. He'll always have a much greater impact in attack though, due to how we play/our wingers are used.

Coming from Agars neck of the woods is clearly in his favour.

Hi Andy

The Rugby Football League are in the process of reviewing the video that you are referring to. We do not condone behaviour of this nature and have contacted the player’s employer, Hull F.C., who have confirmed that they are dealing with the incident under their club rules.

It wouldn't be a surprise. But who'll be defamed first: Briscoe or Houghton?

Calderwood has had little ball but looks enthusiastic in everything he does, why am I not surprised he is getting stick, it's the Hull way it seems.

Briscoe, because the bottom line of it is we have Berrigan. Briscoe is being hailed as a messiah because he's doing well and prefers to play in a position we want a bit more class in. Much like with Hall, Lee, Thackeray, and to a lesser extent Wheeldon before him.

I suspect that had Cooke not done the dirty, Tommy Lee may have had a much better deal of things.

He certainly wouldn't have been thrown in at the deep end in an uncomfortable position quite so often. I'm not sure how much effect that would have had on the opinion of many fans (who had already accepted that he was one of the best Hull-born players of all time, before he'd ever made a first team appearance), as he was never going to live up to the hype and expectations no matter how well and suitably he was introduced to the team.

Possibly not, but I think he may well have been more likely to receive praise than criticism if he had been able to be drip fed into the team. As it was, you rightly say he was thrown in at the deep end, and many of the fans seemed to demand he immediately became a direct replacement for what Cooke did for us, even though it had taken him a while to get to that level. He was pretty much asked to become a seasoned professional who could control a game for 80 minutes overnight, rather than being able to play a cameo role to keep learning and look promising, so it must have been much harder for him than some others.

I'm not trying to have a pop at anyone particularly here, it just strikes me that a lot of the fickle accusations actually ring true and perhaps it's about time people took that on board and maybe tried to be a bit more patient. We've again got a good crop coming through, and with something finally being done about quota abuse it would be nice for them to be allowed to blossom rather than being made to collapse under the pressure and ending up in the national leagues.

Cant be bothered to trawl through the thread but earlier someone was saying he looks disinterested, ffs how wrong can they be. He has been the victim of a quality kick against Wigan but other than that he has pulled us out of the poo several times with his tracking back and cover defence. I regard him as one of the best defensive wingers in the British game and would be happy if Briscoe and any other young player in our squad were to learn what they can off him
