The opposition was weak but there is a positive in our defensive resolve from last night. Success is built on defence and we will need a lot more of the same going forward. It's clear the senior (best) players are 100% behind the cause with their performances. It was noticeable how similar Miller and Sneyd are - both running touchline to touchline. Miller maybe has a little more pace than Sneyd. Both run at least 5 yards away from the opposition line which commits no one defensively. Carlos' try was made by an excellent line by Washy not any real trickery by Sneyd. He should be made to sit down and watch never ending loop videos of Sean Long's playing career. He used to commit defenders and take the ball to the line. Sure he got battered a lot of times but it's that type of player we need at scrum half.

You are relishing the fact our defence was better?
We were playing the worst team in the league with the worst points scoring record. They play worse rugby than us and were clueless near the line yet you take that as a positive.

As for the senior players being 100% behind the cause why is it they seemed to go through the motions and nothing more and why did we only post 22 points when most teams put a cricket score past them.
With the team we have and the promise displayed in the first 2 games we could quite have easily won every game so far if that team regularly turned up however our down turn in form is because the team spirit and work ethos seems to be diminishing which to me doesn't display players being 100% behind the cause.

I accept you mostly see the good in all things Hull but come on after last night you are now cluthing at straws for positivity.

No one's claiming we were any good. It always makes me smile when oppo fans come on here to tell us we're not very good. Does it take your mind off your abysmal effort for a few minutes ? Understandable I suppose.

top of league widnes only beat them 16-24.on the downside ,hull seem incapable of making the kc any kind of forminable fortress.it was like it all last season and so far this season, apart from Salford ,we have struggled to beat wakey and lost to cas and wigan.apart from beating hull ,cas have got hammered at wire and sts and couldn't even beat a very poor dobbins team away.

You think Ellis and Mini just went through the motions ? I thought they were pretty good. If players aren't 100% behind the cause then they're robbing me and you of our hard earned. I hope you're wrong on that particular point you make. Certainly if it is the case that within 3 games we've gone from a confident, together bunch to a rabble then that would be some change in what - 3 weeks ?

My theory is more that our back line isn't up to the job, with the exception of Shaul and possibly Carlos they're miles off. When Pryce is fit he's easily our most creative back but alas he rarely is fit, even during the games he plays. Michaels and Logan can't defend high kicks to save their lives, or defend well at all in the case of Logan. Naughton often flaps when trying to catch the ball and Tala is good with the ball (particularly out of his own half) but defensively gets exposed positionally and for pace. Fonua looked the weakest of the imports from what I saw of him but not seen enough yet to be sure. Basically any team that's any good that attacks our edges will prosper. That's my theory based on what I watch every week. I don't know about team spirit as I'm not in the team.

I went to Widnes as you probably did. For 20 mins we were dominant but failed to take chances. Had we done so it could have been very different. We then witnessed a total collapse orchestrated by a player of the type we so badly need. Did we decide we weren't happy with coach and each other half way through the first half in that game ? Not sure - I saw Houghton bollocking everyone as they went off at half time. Maybe he was just telling everyone how poop Radford was.

Can't see Radford lasting much longer unless we put a decent winning run together and stay in the top 6 through the next few weeks. Whatever the coach scenario we need to strengthen our back line. That's how I see it.

Did people really think after 3 losses. Of which 1 was a particularly bad performance we'd just turn on form like a tap? Now also its all radford? Imagine if we did a cas last night? Be utter meltdown. And powell is god apparently!!!
I wonder if some have been watching team sports for more than 2 minutes. It's how it goes at times. We're out of form. Got some issues but geez

Well I'm glad you can find something to smile about, you should be more concerned how poor your team is than how bad we were considering you were at home with your expensive imports and Wakefield had 6 players missing, bottom 4 for your lot squire on last nights showing.

After the last 3 weeks im just going to enjoy the win. Defence has being a major concern for me so was pleased to see that do well REGARDLESS of who we are playing. We were in positions to win both the Wigan and Cas games do dont think we are as bad as some think on here.
