This is what I have been wondering. I'm sure that before the season began, Pearson said we had no marquee players and now Trueman appears to be classed as a marquee player by some.

However, if I am reading the rules right, we can only have three marquee players if one is federation trained so is that Trueman?

Can you have 2 overseas marquee players and one homegrown.

So if we had Abdul, we could have 2 overseas players as marquee players.

I might be wrong but i'm sure that AP said in his Humberside interview that we have 'almost a fifth' of our cap was on the sidelines in Trueman and Carlos, going off the £2.3 Million which AP has quoted, that would mean both are roughly earning £200K a year.

The way I read the rules is that you can only have three marquee players if at least one is federation trained. I don't really understand the whole federation thing so if someone can explain that to me I would be grateful. Does Trueman class a federation trained for example or are we talking overseas signings as federation trained players, in which case is Asiata our federation trained player?

Basically played junior/academy rugby in UK or France.
makes you fed trained. Any player that is non quota.

The Abdull Marquee thing is just a way to give us more cap to sign another player.

Thank you. So it sounds to me like we may have decided to list Trueman as a marquee signing when previously he was just part of the normal salary cap in order to get two more marquee players in.
