The bloke is a clown. Biggest bullshitter on social media and that's a crowded field.
It seems HDM were taken in by him, though, according to the two reports , so who knows? We seem to be linked with every player who may possibly be available at the moment.
Been able to tie down one of most highly thought of halves in the comp as a Academy Marquee signing is a decent bit of business imo, granted there is the obvious worries over his injuries/weight.
I like that this frees up the opportunity to use a quota spot on a centre/back rower.
But it would mean 3 marquee players of Trueman, Asiata and Abdul...it could, unless they all suddenly and miraculously become injury and issue free, turn out to be the worst use of the marquee rule ever dreamt up.
Not sure it's good for the squad, or for morale, when other players are getting paid much less for potentially much more, and it means any new quota players or even SL players won't be top drawer.
There seems to be no plan, no planning, no thought at all..it might result in a 7-9 finish but at what cost and what happens when these and Hardaker, Holmes, Briscoe etc are all finished in a couple of years? Do Myler/Pearson honestly believe the young lads will all be top class internationals by then? Or is it hope someone else throws some money in and start again?
Myler and Pearson appear to be throwing around someone else's money with no thought nor any regard to the end result.

Is Abdul on a marquee contract, I thought he was academy trained.
So we would still have a marquee place left.
Think Asiata is good use, injury issues, but pervious season has a very good injury record, lets not listen to bitter Beaumont. Fans are listening to him with his spin, we have signed one of the best LF's in SL, a winner and leader, watching yesterday, he is exactly what we need one and on the field.
Trueman I agree, but that isn't anything to do with Myler.
Still have 2 to 4 quota spots to use and a lot of cap, lets see where we are then.

Lets not forget that Leigh were prepared to offer him a 2 year deal with a pay increase to his current salary, would you do that if you thought he wouldn't play?

Think that's a bit harsh to be honest. Myler has been particularly outspoken about the need to create an identity for the club, get some experience in, develop the youngsters but over time and protect them, even mentioned that there's a plan in place for five to seven years. He's only been in the job about a month, we're not going to know how it really shapes up for some time. People need to relax and give him time.
Also, do we know for certain that Abdull will be coming as a marquee player? And has Trueman actually been confirmed as a marquee player?

The allowance that HDM/HU8 HFC are talking about taking advantage of is the club trained MARQUEE allowance...the club already utilises it's home grown allowances to the max, there is no further advantage to Abdul salary cap wise unless he is a marquee (only 50k on cap)...so yes it would appear that Abdul would complete the marquee player trio.

Risky strategy with no real pay-off.
I'm pretty sure the club use the home grown allowance on Houghton, that will be gone, who will that be spent on. Anyway getting Abdul for 50k will be good business. We have a massive amount of cap so it shouldn't stop us bringing in good overseas players.

not good business if he costs £200k a year and barely plays
