If there is no struggle, there is no progress. Those who profess to favor freedom, and yet depreciate agitation, are men who want crops without plowing up the ground. They want rain without thunder and lightning. They want the ocean without the awful roar of its many waters. This struggle may be a moral one; or it may be a physical one; or it may be both moral and physical; but it must be a struggle.
I don't blame you at all, if I lived out of town I wouldn't go to many either. I am lucky that I have a good job and can afford to go, but others won't and will save there money.
I'm afraid I must diagnose you as having a classic case of MGS.
crooks is a fine young player. What he has is impossible to coach and his deficiencies are something a good coach can address. I'll be gutted if we let him go
Absolutely. Whether Crooks leaving is true or not (and I very much hope it's not), his treatment by Radford this season has been very, very poor. 19 SL tries, SL Dream Team and YPOTY to being alienated and, possibly, cast aside by a coach who is unable to nurture his talent and develop his game. Centres with the natural ability of Crooks do not come along very often, the fact his confidence and development have been damaged to the degree they have, in large part, IMO, due to poor coaching and poor man management is a disgrace. It's bad enough having to watch the sh*te we've been served up on the pitch this year, but watching our best young players being treated this way highlights to me the long term damage that could be done if things are not addressed in the very near future.
To lose a young player of Crooks ability and potential would go against everything AP has stated he stands for.

Ive finally signed up after seeing enough hate towards radford without anyone knowing whats actually going on behind the scenes.
Majority go on like radford turns up; trains then picks the team and thats that.
Little know all the issues he and the club have; nobody on here would say anything to him in the same room?
A maxed out cap full of overpaid average national conference players who shaun mcrae and peter gentle brought in.
Players like arundel, jason crookes, miller are all top earners at the club; where are they now?
The paying off of holdsworth is also included in this years cap (not cheap)
All the below are seen if anyone pays attention to build up and training:
Ben Crookes has excellent potential but like most agents his seems to be in charge. Not going into detail but lets say he doesnt train and wont play again for hull.
Tuson - large wage / hardly played Colbon - working in the community on first team budget Talanoa - tries hard but very poor defensive reads cost a lot of points SA - Has been a decent signing in my eyes but is crooked (doesnt train) Pitts - tries hard but fc paying his wages to play for bradford
The issue at the moment i purely down to the old regime. They ran the club lik tomorrow would never come; with large back dated contracts and stupid wages. Well radford is having to pick up the pieces; why do you think no established coach wanted the job?
Give him at least another year; bring in someone who actually knows what they are doing to oversee lee / transfers and more importantly the academy set up.
Mcrae / Tony all established names but taking home a big wage and not doing a good enough job.
Pearson sending again next year shos his confidence in where the club coud be; wigan where nearly relegated a few years back and look were they are now (one of the only teams to not spend the cap)

Great post but you won't get much support on here from the anti Radford hard liners that can't or won't see past their own noses . If you show any support to the coach your labelled a cheerleader

What a strange post, you defend Radford then basically moan about 4 of Radfords signings. Surely it is his fault that he signed Talanoa, Colbon, sa and Tuson.
Gentle did miles better with a simalar squad, if cannot see the number of mistakes Radford makes each week, then you aren't watching the right game.
Not sure how you can compare Wane who served his tine atWigan under one of the best coaches in the world.
His treatment of Crooks has been appalling, ok he hasn't been great, but neither have many others, but they haven't been treated the same way.

Not my place as a neutral, but some fairly obvious counter points:
Holds worth never played for you this year, and is registered to another club. I'm 90% certain therefore any off season pay off doesn't count on the cap - even if it did, given the tragic circumstances of his departure there are procedures in place for exemptions to be made - know it those as I do, it would of been an easy process for the club to be granted for it not to be counted on the cap - if they didn't apply for it it's their own fault.
I never thought any of your players were national conference standard - in fact I held your squad up as a shining example to arrogant Salford fans over the off season. EVEN if we assume those players ARE of that standard, the very easy question is the majority of those players got you to 6th and the cc final last year, yet you lavish in 12th now - so what's so different?
3/5 players (Colbon talona and sa?) were radford signings were they not? So how can the previous regime be responsible for their poor performances?
Back dated contracts don't work in this country (again to the best of my knowledge) as there's a line in the operational rules that reads "the date of the payments to a player is irrelevant, rather than the intention for which is was paid" so if a player signs a 4 year contract, he won't count on the cap if he leaves after the contract, because the contract is paying him for his 4 years of service, even if the contract payments run into year 5. So, for example, if you agree to pay a player £100k over 5 years for 4 years of service, he would still count as £25k a year on the cap.
