What are the squad sizes for both teams 19s?

Surely with both squads coming together, half the players are going to miss out due to making one squad?
Also for example we have Dean and HTW as our halves, and we know there both fantastic with huge potential. What if KR have two very good halves too with huge potential. Two are likely to miss out.

Nothing but bad news for the club.
Also heard today that the lads hadn't even been told about the merger and found out online, and that some of the young lads were tweeting how disappointed they are and gutted they won't be playing in anymore derbies. To be told they have to take their tweets down by the club. Looks like their not aloud to voice their opinions either now.

I've always thought we, thats Hull RLFC, should have a squad at ever year from u12's signed, yes, its 8 squads, but give it a few years, with the right people and the right structures and the internationals will come rolling out.

This new merger will be trying to get a 15 year old and making him a star by the times he's 19. Bollox, the best of the best got signed by Wigan and Saints at the age of 12

You can't sign to scholarship till 14 and that has to be via an offer that comes through the RFL

The you have to turn 16 before you can get an academy contract.


The best players at 12 are not the best players at 16/19, proven fact. Yes some will go all the way but it's not an exact science.

And the best players at 18/19 don't necessarily turn into top SL players.

This kind of problem will happen as talent and potential isn't equally spread out over 1-17. What if one year has 2 good fullbacks or hookers or you are trying to fit in 3 centres? It hard enough balancing a squad at first team level where there are many more options at the start of each year - its going to be far worse in this scenario with 2 clubs naturally looking after their own interests.

Has anyone got any plans for some form of protest/chant at points throughout the game? I know today's might be short notice but if we could try something today and prep for next Friday it might take off?

Only really started thinking about it this morning but a chant on 1 min 50 on the clock at the start of boths halves to refer to the 150th anniversary might work? I don't know ha

In 2006 I was working with Neil Hudgell in a professional capacity. He was unaware of my strong FC allegiances as we started talking rugby. He said to me 'I want to see those black and white b@st@rds rot. I wouldn't p@ss on them if they were on fire'

9 years on he's championing a 'friendly' merger agreement to utilise our academy network and get a pick of our best youth stars. The man CANNOT be trusted. I feel Pearson has had his pants pulled down here.

This isn't a wild accusation, but I honestly believe allowing Rovers anywhere near our club is the beginning of a very slippery slope. We saw yesterday how our current academy feel about the merger, let's show Adam and the rest how we feel today. Hull FC is the fans, let's be heard!
