I for one wish him well... One thing is for sure despite what a lot on here said he was not sacked or under any sort of investigation...Good luck Mr Rule!
I consistently told everyone what hetherington and rule were really like and was roundly criticised for it. Thankfully, I'm a smug barsteward who will continue to remind everyone
You've been around telling things how they are much more than me, but I can't deny I'm feeling pretty satisfied too. This level of vindication could never have been expected. Especially when coupled with, a few weeks back, Pearson saying he had conclusive evidence that Agar had conspired to shaft us out of Luke Briscoe, making instant mugs out of all those who used to come on here and tell us what a decent, honest bloke 'Rich' was.
What is a bit disappointing though is, given the number of people who used to queue up to praise JR, how few of them seem to be willing now to hold their hands up and say 'I got it wrong'. Poor form indeed...

I'll admit, I thought that Rule was sometimes decent. I didn't like the lack of ambition that the club has seemed to have over the past few seasons, however the club was one of the few around that could balance its books and we had a grade A licence so it appeared to me that whilst we weren't performing on the pitch, behind the scenes the club was doing well, which therefore painted Rule in a good light as he was the CEO. So yes, in some aspects I thought that Rule had been decent, and it's now turned out that things weren't as rosy as I'd thought.

Oh, please
They could always do what you do when proved wrong and disappear for a few months.

If you hadn't noticed, there hasn't been any rugby played for several months now, once the excitement of the new regime taking over was out of the way, there was very little of interest to post about (unless you're interested in the hunks thread). You can't seriously claim to be surprised that more people post on the forum when something has actually happened?
Speaking of those who post year-round though, since I joined this forum, I've been often ridiculed and criticised for how much I tore into Rule and Agar. Now it turns out that I was spot on, while large numbers of supposedly more 'respected' posters have been made to look like berks.
When so many have been embarrassed, it's not going to wash trying to turn this into a conversation about the frequency of my posts. As I said to Wilf, there's far more dignity in a simple retraction....

Oh, get a grip and over yourself. Despite your single minded obsession even you have to admit being CEO of a sports club is multi-faceted.
Let's put this into context. What emerged yesterday didn't change my opinion of Rule's intentions with regard to his duty to the club. I'm certain that this massive error wasn't made with the specific intention to royally shaft us. Rather the opposite, despite his decision being misguided to such an extent it's ruined his career.
You're trying to paint a picture of a man incompetent in all areas and with purely evil intentions. Like saying a teacher is unable to teach because she gives out the wrong text books one day or the delivery man is an incompetent driver because he hands over the wrong parcel, this total dismissal of everything Rule did as being no good makes you look a fool.
We've already come to terms with the last board's apathy and Kath and Agar's treachery at the last. I've always worried about Mr and Mrs Hetherington, but to say Agar was working against the club the whole time is a nonsense, too.
Agar was a crap coach. Rule made some shocking mistakes. Kath had other motives. But keeping it all in context, yesterday's news didn't undermine everything else we understood to be true.

We made profits by failing to spend the cash we should have done on things like training facilities and youth development
Do you really believe that? Do you honestly think this is the only occasion where the fans have been lied to by the club's previous administration?
Never said that, Jake. I'm sure there's loads of stuff we don't know, like fans of most other clubs. What I am saying is that not everything was a lie and done deceitfully or with bad motives, and a lot of what was acheived off the pitch was good. More than good.

The only good things I can see were marketing (which actually diminished in effectiveness due to constant spin and a failure to back it up with any modicum of success on the pitch) and retail sales. I'd say pretty much everything else at the club fell way short of where it should have been for a club the size of Hull FC
