Although he was only signed as a short term option as he was 33, I'll bite anyway and stick my neck on the line and say at no point in his career Long as been in the top 5 number 7s in the world, when he was in his prime there were Johns, Jones, Kimmorly, Gower and Orford around, in fact in recent years he has adapted his game a lot but Long was often critised that he didn't do enough for a 7 and relied on his speed off the mark and step too much, he also never really made an impact on the international stage despite numerous opportunities, great player for Saints but to day he was or is the best in the world is stupid.
