Bad enough trying to blame the fans (my thoughts on that are documented elsewhere) but admitting that he doesn't know how to fix things is terrible. The more I think about it, the more I feel he is out of his depth.
So what is the answer? Some he hasn't tried already, for starters.
Would exactly, galvanise the whole fan base, but question is.
Would Pearson abandon his policy of 'Club Hull'??
Good question. Maybe doesn't need abandoning as such, just tinkering with. Bring someone like Smith in and his choice of coaching staff but keep the policy of developing local players for the first team and building the team around them. The coaching staff doesn't need to be local to make that a success.

The 'Club Hull' policy of appointing ex local players & existing coaching staff, to instill pride & passion , which in reality shouldve been - the best staff available .
Our problems have stemmed from appointing within, its doesnt address the issue, which is an attitude of apathy, Pearson shouldve gone for a coach who is proven., and a full clear out of the coaching staff(conditioner,Assistant Coach etc etc), let the new guy, decide who he wants.
I got slated for suggesting Brian Smith, as he has a record of improving player's core skills & attitude, at least all our players would be 'singing from the same hymn sheet'
Other issues, are our core skills arent good enough, more worrying the youngsters will inherit these traits.
It will be interesting to see from now on, how Pearson reacts when performances drop,
I think we will give a helluva performance against Wigan, but ... the player's attitude hasnt changed since 2006, turn up -when we have to.

Completely agree. A good coach and his staff should be able to do this anyway regardless of where they came from.

Can't argue with this at all. For me, promoting assistants just doesn't work for us. And if we do bring in someone new with head coach experience then he needs to be able to bring in his own team.

I have similar concerns about the youngsters. Not just skill wise but apathy wise. They'll look to the senior players for guidance/tutoring and if the players send out the wrong message then we're just going to have the same problem with the next generation of players.

Not just performances but how the fans react. If more fans start walking and react like that guy did on Sunday in the West Stand then he'll act.

Whilst I'm not expecting a win I do think the players will put in a good performance this week. They'll know they have to turn up for this one.

You can forget Smith or anyone else coming in because Lee Radford is here for a while yet, all the signs are there we are signing players and about to sign players that are his choice, there would be little point in doing that if he was off. We've all just got to do our best and back him, its obviously some of the players that are letting him down and I expect there will be a constant turn around of those in the coming weeks. However its nice to dream of new coaches as we all did for about 18 months under Agar but like then we might have quite a wait and our owner is injecting more money into the Club, which its hard to imagine he would do if we were about to change coaches, so it won't be happening, even if we get sucked into the relegation mire.

Fair comment Wilf. I'm not convinced by Radford at this time but the problem can't just be pinned on him as the players are letting him down. We've just got to hope he can turn things round.
