No Balmforth in that extension announcement lends some credence to rumours he is off I think. If we'd extended his contract you'd think it would be announced at the same time as the other youth players.

Good news getting the young lads tied down. I imagine Staveley and Gardinier will see more game time this season.

We're definitely heading in the right direction with the youth. I can see Litten taking Shauls place in the squad next season. The more time these kids get in and around the first team the better we'll be long term.

Thanks for the mention Dave. I wonder why the discussion has turned to Rovers? Maybe because at the moment they are a bit more interesting and there is more positive news emanating from Craven Park than the MKM.

Re Balmforth in the HDM Q&A today someone asked if he had a future at the club and this was Dan Tomlinsons reply

‘Doing well on loan at Newcastle and getting vital experience. Tony Smith said in a recent press conference he was happy with his progress, so I'd suggest so.’

Sounds fairly positive would be interesting to know the players we’ve supposedly been after as per the rumour mill how many we have actually made genuine approaches or offers to. Only a couple of weeks ago Staveley was nailed on as a departure.

We do have past history of bringing in players that have gone under the radar.

There certainly seems no panic from within the club.

There was a rumour of Lovodua to Salford, so perhaps a cash plus player swap deal?

Cant see anyone being interested in Lovodua, he will be like a mystery man to other teams, position = nobody knows, and apart from 'most games as 18th man' the stats wont be interesting anyone, especially as he takes up a quota space
