Have to replace Connor with someone of equal quality (although maybe a different style) or we are in big trouble, Ma'u is a good player, but not a game breaker and could be replaced a lot easier.

Hopefully his agent and he will get a better deal at Hull, happily make him a marquee player, particularly when you think Reynolds is rumoured to be on marquee wages.

Maybe the two are connected and allowing ma'u to leave means we can offer Connor more?

If that's the case it would cushion the blow of losing Ma'u but if Connor wants to test himself in the NRL there's nothing we can do.

We should do everything in our power to keep Connor even if it means losing a player of Ma'u's calibre and maybe one or two others.

It would solve the problem for his knockers on here with their internal rants about his lack of pace and where to play him :D
Think he’ll stay, hasn’t he got a young family but there again Oz is a fantastic place to live and he’d be on a good wedge. I just don’t see him doing well out there, stricter regime and definitely wouldn’t put up with his pouting. Machinations.

Shame about Mau. Would have liked him to have stopped another year. But we don't see what goes on being closed doors regarding fitness etc. Also we might be in for another back rower?

Letting your form players go is always a problem
A second row of Savelio,Lane and Griffin is hardly inspiring
The fitness concern should be Savelio

Can you seriously see Connor in first grade NRL? not a chance.Ball handling is all well and good but speed and defence is what the NRL is all about and what Connor lacks.
Most of the front rows in the NRL are faster than Connor.
If it was true and we received a good fee for him then i would be happy to see him go if it meant we could sign someone like Bevan French and not just to create the position for Jamie Shaul

I hope he stays for another year. He may be 33 but didn't debut until 2014 and keeps himself in good condition so there's no reason why he can't go round again. He's been one of our best this year and would definitely need replacing.

Must be a blow to the coach to see one of your form players leave

Why would it be a blow if we haven't offered him a deal?

Hardly think Hodgson would be praising Mau and several others like Ligi Sao if he wanted him to go.
Mau is our form second row and none of the others come close.
