Guess he’s not as bad as a lot have tried to say. I was reading Wire fans reaction to Hill leaving and one fan said there pack is small as it is and will be bullied next season, if their only signing is Joe Bullock, which will mean their halves won’t be as effective. FC’s pack haven’t been as dominant as some are trying to make out apart from the first few games, when most were fit. Then Covid hit, the training facilities were shut as some seem to forget. Cohesion and fitness suffered especially for big Chris. Sneyd’s a proven organiser and match winner and when FC are at something like full strength and have all pivots playing, they’re a match for any team in Super League. This season’s been a debacle. Let’s get it over with and hopefully the usual suspects will calm down and perhaps buy a season pass for once, at least then they’ll be justified in having a rant now and then. I’m off to watch the game shortly and will no doubt be drowning my sorrows in the pub afterwards
People live in the dark ages where they think a half back will change everything. In the modern day everyone has to do the job or it doesnt work. Could we do better then Sneyd probably, however he is not the problem at the club far from it.
Ive stopped this discussion, its like talking to a brick wall.
We are 11th overall for metres and in the bottom half for attacking kicks. That alone tells you we play the majority of our games in our own half. Despite tge fact he never brings oht to the table (lol) he finds himself in the top 20 for try assists year after year. He also the player that creates the space for Connor.
Absolute tripe posted on this board these days.
If you are happy with Sneyds form force years and want blame it all on the forwards that's up to you.
This year Maloney, Miller, Lolohea and Widdop, last year Lolohea, Miller, Gale, Maloney, Richardson, Austin, Sezer all missed more tackles.
Drop goals have been hit and miss this season although he was joint top in SL for them last season, top in 2019, second in 2018 (despite missing half the season), fourth in 2017, second in 2016 and top in 2015 so probably the best in SL in the last six years.
The comment on goal kicking is just not true, Dave. He had that wobble in the Leigh game missing four in a row but his success rate this year is 80%. It was the same % in 2020. 2019 was 83%, 2018 was 81%, 2017 was 87%. Also worth pointing out that he's only missed seven games in three seasons.
His passing is the weakness but then you could point to weaknesses in most half backs.
Fair point about the goal kicking, just seemed to miss more kicks this year.
Agree though his main issue is passing, that along with running, which I'd say are two big weaknesses for a halfback. I don't think his attacking game has been that great either.
Errrrmmmmm, back onto the topic of “What now”, I’m going to let my direct debit for 2 passes run and run ad infinitum as a friend described it, until I snuff and they can’t get owt from my bank account Try to see some positives in my club, try not to get annoyed when I come on here and read some of the stupid and inaccurate posts, try not to be too subdued when the majority on here post there continuous negative comments over and over again hoping I’ll agree with them and try to get to as many games as possible whilst I still can. Lighten up, we’re here for a good time, not a long time and believe me, it’s over all too quick for some.
but we are already aware of our strengths and weaknesses and our energy and focus is on improving in those key areas, which will include some changes to the playing squad.
