I heard Cooper Cronk from my usual source last week (hence why i put a tongue in cheek entry about 2/3 pages back) but i laughed it off as a joke..... maybe it wasn't!!!

at least agar has his excuse lined up. We focussed on 2012 cos no one was available in 2011

Now look what you have done BDT people actually believe Agar has told you this and now they will be quoting it as fact that the club want to finish bottom next year because we are looking at the year after

Think you need to drop the Cooper Cronk stuff mate, Paramatta approached Melbourne this year and were sent packing. He's signed until the end of the 2013 season and they've been very vocal in stating he's not leaving.

Think I also recall reading he's a top four earner at the Storm and we've already witnessed they have Warrington style salary cap in place. It would take a salary of 300k ish to lure him here - no chance.

I did say i laughed it off as a joke, however i'm simply putting what i've been told. I know for a fact that the club are talking to him/his club/his reps but as you've said it's unlikely to happen, but when people have a go about lack of ambition it is certainly not the case.
Just one thing tho Digby, it's not always about money, sometimes it's just about rugby league!!

I'm confused there letting us speak to him when they publically stated that Cronk, Smith and Slater would not be speaking to any club. IIRC correct they stated they were the top tier players at the club and only lower tier players will leave.

You've lost me on "sometimes it's about rugby league" we play dour rugby under Agar and don't trouble silverware. Melbourne play champagne rugby under one of the best coached in the game and regularly challenge.

I don't see what you see. But I hope your correct.
