While we're getting linked to Rovers players , I've always liked Storton. The signing of Dupree would push him down the pecking order

They aren't messing around. Hiku, Gildart, Dupree and Wallace is impressive recruitment.

Ackers would be ideal but highly doubtful and would be happy with Storton.

They have released a fighting statement, will ne intresting to see what happens, lot of money and fuss over a player who has had half a good season, seems a poor thing to do to Salford, after they gave him a chance to play SL again.

If I'm honest that's not the sort of player you would want attitude wise if he has already handed in a transfer request for a release this season, rather than see out the season with the club he has a contract with, especially when Salford are doing more than OK and gave him his chance. It would seem his head has been turned by an offer from another club which is fine but not mid way through a season when Salford are still very much in the mix, its not like he's at Wakey.

Dupree is a decent prospect - but half a season doesn't make him a 150k transfer fee player, and 100k plus salary a year.

We would get more out of Ackers and Watkins for our squad than we would with Dupree

I can see it from his side. If he has chance of a bumper contract somewhere and feels that Salford are denying him the opportunity by knocking back all offers he might be annoyed. It can be a short career after all and he might not be such hot property by the time his existing contract runs out especially if things are looking dicey money-wise over there.
That said it feels rough on Salford and just shows loyalty is a rare commodity. Contracts only seem to exist to potentially extract a fee these days.

If you had a 15 year career and knew your company were potentially facing financial hardship and you could get more money elsewhere, would you stay and potentially leave further down the line, or leave now to try get stability and potentially more money? It doesn't make sense for Salford to be turning down transfer requests when they're also begging fans for money
