All he has to do is refuse to play or train, what can Rovers or any club do?

I honestly think Radford did with Litten, will have been on a low wage, could have got a small fee, why else would he release him.

Not pay him.

He’s not been selected for a couple of weeks, I think it escalating to strike action would be a bit extreme and do him a degree of reputational damage!

Regarding Litten. If that is true, then ta Lee. But was it not a late season loan deal for two players who were ooc at the end of the year anyway? More a case of ‘they won’t be here next year, so let’s focus on players who will be, and save the a few quid’. Halton has 2 years after this, that’s a lot more to write off.
I could be wrong, haven’t been able to confirm via Google.

I can see it both ways, with Halton, to be fair. At 26 , he is in his prime and not getting a game, but, if he is unhappy and demanding a move, it speaks to me about his character. He had a bit of a meteoric rise, in terms of his career, when Rovers plucked him from the Championship, and while he's done well, a superstar he is not,, by any standard. He should knuckle down and wait for a chance. Linnett could get injured or fall out of form, so its a bit drastic of him wanting a move, if indeed that is the case. £65k is unrealistic for a player that doesn't get a game, albeit in a well performing team, and Rovers are probably pricing him out of a move to most clubs who'd want him. The ones that could afford him, don't need him, so he should train hard and await his chance- not like he isn't being paid is it?

to be honest, I don't know if Halton is unhappy, I'm sure he wants to play that's all. I wouldn't be surprised if we have enquired, but I don't see him coming.

Yeah i would imagine he does want to be playing, but he can't really argue against Peters' team selection , but to know that a veteran is playing in his position, should spark him to train the house down, because at KL's age, injuries are common and can happen from even the most innocuous tackles . I'd certainly take him at Hull, but would hope that we can get better, given the scope of our recruitment for next year. I aren't panicking yet, we are not even at halfway this season and , after we all but banished the possibility of a relegation fight, we have time to sign the players we want, with some due diligence and proper decision making behind any signing we pursue. I cannot see Ackers coming to Hull, though, not because of any sporting decision ,but at his age, I wouldn't think he'd want to relocate and I think there'd be a possibility he could sign for Wigan, if he was allowed to leave. They have Powell, who their fans don't rate that highly, and young O'Neill ,who is going to be very good ,but Ackers would be good fit for them and allow O'Neill's development to continue without overplaying him, in my opinion.

yet you are happy the club is looking at the likes of Wood and extending the contract of Cam Scott.
Simm is a cut above both of them

it shows how far we have fallen when if true we are or have been looking at some of the players mentioned.
A couple of seasons ago fans on here would have laughed at the thought of players like Woods or Halton coming to the club

I wouldn't argue with a swap deal Savelio for Tanginoa though the likelihood of that happening is very slim.

Not fallen, as such, but surviving is the word I'd use, after Covid derailed our financial well being. We are lucky to have a club at all and Pearson has done very well, steering us back towards stability, from a perilous position, without having the financial backing of other clubs. Do you think the likes of Saints, Warrington and even Rovers would be any better off, if they hadn't had benefactors keeping them solvent?
