Poor result for Rovers with no a full strength side which is their strongest squad in their SL history. I honestly don't think they are as good as they think they are and there luck run out a bit last night.
As for Sneyd, people have forgotten he was pretty poor in his last 2 years at Hull, particularly his last season, confidence had gone, kicking was poor and he even couldn't drop a goal. Was right for us amd him to move on, unfortunately we left it late to make the decision amd left with Gale.
Clifford last season performed much better than Sneyd did in his last 2/3 years.
Still love what he did fir us in his first few seasons, but it was time to move him on.
I personally think Sneyd moving away has done him good. Had he stayed at Hull I don't think he'd be playing like he is now. He needed that move back home, change of scenery, new coach who so far seems impressive. We've seen ourselves with Ashworth this year how much changing club can give you a new lease of life. Honestly when he left I wasn't overly fussed. I think his time at Hull had just gone a bit stale. But for what he did in the time he was here, he will always be a Hull legend
Rowley is a brilliant coach, next big job I reckon he will be favourite.
He’s had Salford playing some outstanding footie, two quality centres, wingers who can run with speed, one of the very best halves in the comp, with the very best kicking game, and an Aussie half who could run and tackle, he’s picked up a few Wigan unwanted, and they are a very good team.
Of course then the financial pressure to release some star players is always there for them, which has happened with Croft Budgie etc, but their style of play seems unaltered. Kallum Watkins has also transitioned into an excellent second row.
Peters has said this on bbc sports website… “And we are still trying to find our best 17 - that's what the early rounds are about"….errr thought that what pre-season was for and the intense training and jaunt away they had. They have signed loads but he hasn’t got a bloody clue what to do with them all…how much of last season was down to maguire???

Pre seasons about fitness and trying new combinations isn't it? A chance to learn a new tackle technique aswell for some. When you bring in a load of new signings you probably won't know your best 17 after 1 pre season game, I'm guessing you play what you think could be your best 17 on paper, but wait, someone's out of form, so you have to try something else, we've won two and lost one and have been pretty poor in all three games with the ball in hand so far, so he's bound to want to do a bit of tinkering. We were well on top in the derby before Pele got sent off, do you think that was TS' s best 17 or do you think he might have thought that it's still a work on progress too?

For all the talk of it being our best SL squad, we lacked one important component last night, a real leader.if we had someone that could have just said to calm down and respect the ball a bit more, to have kicked long and deep, to basically steered them back to the game plan we'd probably have won, but like yourselves we've got two running hb's and not that quality organiser.
