Still unsure on the Gamble/Wakeham link, been told its either or plus Hoy.

Wakeham has been made available to SL clubs but that's all I can find.

Same bloke who's told me about Manu, Reynolds, Truman, Hoy and the loan deals has mentioned the Sutcliffe thing too. But that will boil down to cap and if we can move Shaul on this season. Could still happen 2023.

Gamble is another grub type player who can cover 6,7&9 but when I’ve seen him, he isn’t a very attacking player , good defender but not what we need in my opinion, just think we need to give Balmfoet and Hoboken a big preseason, working on structures , such as they are and give them both a fair crack. It’s not really fair to judge Hookem at the moment as he’s had such little game time and Wigan away is not the best place to come on with a huge score against us amassing.
I’d like another aggressive prop , there are loads playing reserve in the NRL, a second rower and a genuinely quick centre. I think Mitch would have made a great centre if we’d got him when he was a youngster but his army commitments will probably stop any more development and disrupt his preseason.
Hull appear to be playing the long game by bringing on youth, which is great when you have a team littered with starts to take the pressure off them but that is not a luxury we have , Taylor looks done to me, which is a shame because he was an excellent player , as does Griffin and poor Danny Houghton, which is compounded by the amount of minutes he plays. Time to remove any sentiment from the decisions we make going forward and I genuinely believe Pearson is at that point now, he’s sick of the 60 point humiliations which cost Radders his job, quite rightly too, so behind the scenes I’d imagine there are awkward discussions between him and the entire coaching set up, with the exception possibly, ifShenton and maybe Ellis so I’d think Hodgkin is under the spotlight so to speak. I appreciate that there isn’t a great pool of players to pick from but surely we can get some young and hungry Aussies or Kiwis to replace the old heads , the NSW cup is quite a high standard and there are some good players to be watched, not to thwart the youth progression which appears to be very well run, but to fill the positions we are lacking in, until those players are ready , 60 point drubbings won’t help them at all and teams look at us as cannon fodder these days when our best 17 aren’t playing . I went to the Cats away game this year, as a gift from my family after a prolonged illness -I wish I hadn’t attended the actual match and I’m glad we had a last minute change of heart about going to Wigan , it turns fans off to see that sort of match. Preseason signings will need to be in the money or we could end fighting against relegation I think, given the standard and apparent wealth at Leigh, if they win promotion. Phew !

Wouldn't be a bad shout to look at Lewis Murphy or Corey Hall from Wakey if they go down...

Wonder If we'll revisit Halsall from Wigan too

I think Lewis Murphy is a fantastic talent and long term would be a very good addition

Hard Work Beats Talent, When Talent Doesn't Work Hard

Re: Shopping List 2023 : Mon Jul 18, 2022 7:55 am
Hard to remember seeing a player look less interested than he did yesterday but Tanginoa should be the main target if Wakefield does go down. I hyped him up when they signed him but Alvaro to replace Evans would be a big upgrade if Toulouse are the ones relegated, I'd rather have Hankinson than Sutcliffe too.

Is that not the sort of attitude that has got us in this mess in the first place?

Need to keep clear of players who give up!

He would certainly be a decent replacement for Mau at a much lower cost but agree the mental attitude could be an issue but then again Wakey are a car crash this season.
