Is Hodgson the new Griffin, or is it all about pace?

Why have are we all getting our season pass money back? That definitely won’t help, I’ve been buying the merchandise still, and I bet a lot of others have to, it’s common knowledge we don’t make much from drinks food etc, I’m doubting sponsors have asked for money back. Whole lot of flapping with no facts, let’s wait and see without all this wild speculation. Your an idiot, always have been, along with your fellow flapper barista. Let’s wait and see, instead of your constant shiiiite

No I’d say more concerned, which they have every right to be. But trust me as a business owner, hudgell and Pearson will get a slice of the pie in these government hand outs, and with the rfl securing some money, I think they’ll be just fine. It will be us idiots still working, putting ourselves and family’s at risk that will be paying the price to come. So apologies if I don’t share your flapping for wealthy businessmen and professional sportsmen, they’ll be fine and so will the club, because like many have said, we are the best supporters, and we’ll do whatever it takes to save our club if it came to that, but it won’t

If you wish to label yourself as a "flapping idiot" you are free to do so, if you detest the success of Hudgell and Pearson so much then please, don't feel obliged to keep contributing, either financially or on these boards. If Government intervention is "pie in the sky" then we can safely assume none of your employees are furloughed and you are all alright, perhaps you should change your username to Jack?

You clearly have deep seated issues beyond rugby league, and I have no desire to know nor understand them, they are personal. But I would ask you drop the abuse and pointless negativity, it isn't healthy for anyone, in any circumstances.

Yeh I get that, but I wonder how many have stopped paying, unless in serious trouble, I can imagine companies still paying them, it’s taxed deductible, plus now the government are paying a % of previously paid corp tax back to companies that are going to post losses, business will want to spend to claim back. Think the government as give most a real chance of getting through this, what we don’t need is a second phase, don’t think the government will be so generous a second time

I’ve nothing against Pearson or hudge, put they’ll reap every possible benefit the government are handing out, and I don’t blame them, but let’s not be shedding tears for them just yet. The businesses I feel sorry are the hospitality sector, they foooked if this drags on for a while

now you have worded it differently, by and lrge, I agree. Not all the hospitality sector will be f'd, but a lot of it will be, and it will be the smaller independents that suffer, but there is only so much that can be done.

The large cinema chains were already struggling (£5 to see a film in Vue, £7 a month for Netflix/Amazon etc.), I can't see people flocking back to them, so I definitely can't see them flocking back to small community cinemas.

Are people really going to go back to the pub to pay £2.50+ for a pint, especially if they are limited to two pints (depending on what you read and who you believe)

Some would say 'interesting' times ahead, others may say 'worrying' or 'troubled', the only word I could say with any certainty is 'uncertain'.

At the moment the best we all hope for is that everyone wakes up safe and sound tomorrow, sadly, roughly 700 a day aren't.

at least Victoria beckhams failing business will get a cash injection and Branson won’t have to dip into his billions!! Can’t fault the government for trying to protect the economy, but it will be abused by the undeserving, which is a shame

Oh I certainly agree with you there, Branson even asking for help is laughable, he is worth about £4bn, Delta own a huge part of Virgin Atlantic and have a net worth close to £13bn ($17bn). The list of chancers is as long as your arm, Jamie Oliver, Gordon Ramsay to name two.

One of the starkest things that I haven't been able to find out is what happens after furlough ends, are employers obliged to take people back on the payroll?, likewise, if they make someone redundant from a furloughed role who pays the redundancy? why are furloughed employees still accruing leave?

There are many questions that will only be answered in the fullness of time, during which time we will have at least one GE, people will have had enough of "the government", the Conservatives will blame any failiure of Brexit on Covid-19, Labour will have the "it wasn't us, is was them" excuse ready to roll....

depressing isn't a strong enough word!

I’m hoping and thinking people will remember the companies people who have done the right thing, and those that have really not stepped up. Love weatherspoons, but Tim’s not done himself any favours. Branson the more I learn the more I’ll be avoiding virgin products! He pays zero corp tax in uk! Hopefully will be some positives out of all this, massive investment in green energy, Siemens sitting pretty in hull hopefully benefit, uk tourism should be massive, the Spanish and Turks don’t want us over there apparently, some beautiful places in the uk, I personally will be visiting more of them. Can see the ferry’s been more appealing to out of hull. This will change everyone’s behaviour. I think the USA are up shiiit creak, won’t be going there for some time. Nrl back on end of May, can’t wait, hopefully sl will follow suit
