Pass sales currently at around 5,700 which represents a fall of around 1,000 compared to last season.

Very disappointing but given last year's poor home form not too surprising.

Very worrying but not unexpected. Can we sustain a SL team at full cap on this number of passholders given the SMC arrangement? Hmm...

No surprise, we were terrible to watch at home last season.

That is an alarmingly low number and shocking but unfortunately not unexpected.
Pearson has buried his head in the sand and doggedly stuck by a coach who has been instrumental in our decline on and off the field which in turn has driven away fans.
He's right that only winning will bring them back and I hope we do but do we have the correct infrastructure to do so?
The team on paper is the strongest for many a year let's hope Radford gets it right this season and the fans return.
Pearson however has been the master of our gates demise with his arrogance and contempt for fans at time.
Another and probabal final crucial season. Anothher repeat of the last 2 and I echo Barista's comments that to sustain the club at full cap will prove most difficult.

Not like we didn't have visibility of this scenario. Fans have exercised their discretion and the outcome and outlook at this level of support aren't difficult to envisage.

Possible one of the most important seasons in the clubs history, have a real go at the top 4 and I reckon the fans will come back and we can push on for the future. An average season like the previous one would be very worrying.

if we can get off to a good start the fans will trickle back, I agree the last few years have been hard, but we have pushed the boat out this year and imo have a strong squad, but we do need a good start imo, COYH

Re: Almost half way there-season tickets : Wed Jan 13, 2016 12:11 pm
It's alarming how many season ticket holders have been lost since Pearson bought the club. He had the best intentions when he arrived but he has made so many promises that he has failed to deliver. Even if we have a successful season finishing 4th of 5th (that shows how expectations have lowered in the last 10 years when we was on the verge of challenging regularly for trophies) I can't see a significant number of fans rushing back. The fans who have disappeared have found other interests to fill their time. and have got out of the habit of going to games. It will be very difficult to get them back. Sorry to be a doom and gloom merchant but that's how I see it. I'll continue to buy a season pass because I love Rugby League and Hull is my club. Despite being average for a number of years I cling to the hope that success is just around the corner. Having said that I can't wait for the season to start :)

The three things highlighted

1. It cannot be shocking if you expected it to happen.

2. How has Pearson buried his head in the sand? A managers office with a revolving door would put us back to square one on a frequent basis. The cringeworthy line of "I need my players" or "Time to gel" cack would be reeled out time and again with yet another 2-3 year lead time. Personally I think Pearson should be applauded by sticking by a coach rather than being trigger happy in the fired button. Pearson has backed his man, at his own financial cost in the short term on the hope it works out. Its Pearson who stands to be a lot worse off than anyone else on this so I would say his eye are as wide open as you can get on this. Don't get me wrong, I have been a Radford critic, but this year he HAS to deliver.

3. Whats this arrogance and contempt for fans you talk of? If you think he doesn't listen to the fans (hasn't fired Radford at the bequest of fans disgruntlement) then good on him. A lot of very vocal fans speak out in the heat of the moment and most say irrational things.
