I tend to think it's a position we do need to strengthen. In order to play more exciting rugby and look more dangerous in attack we need a more traditional 13. There is Whiting although he has never been tried there so we don't know about him and there is also Washy who seems to me like he will now be the backup hooker to Houghton. For me the key pivots are 1, 6, 7, 9 and 13 and our starting players in those positions are all quality players and british, Tansey, Horne, Long, Houghton and Westerman. We do need cover for the halves and we need good recruitment next year for the haklves but players like Tansey and Westerman will be crucial in our style of play assuming we are trying to change it.
Is right mate, well said. Cracking signing and anyone thinking different needs to wake up. There's a lot of quality in them positions you've mentioned too mate, all English quality. I'm delighted with this signing, seen the rumours on here for a while just glad they came through. I can't understand why anyone is questioning the transfer fee paid either, if it is £150,00 it's nothing, it's not like we can't afford it. The lad's only 20, he has a very bright career ahead (I'm delighted it'll be with us) and bags of talent, he couldn't want to play with a better group right now and he will flourish under fitzy's guidance.
Why are we trying to give him a new position on here. Agar has paid a nice transfer fee, chased him for a considerable time I would imagine and brought him in now so he can work under/with Fitz, surely there's no way he'll play anywhere else other than 13 unless for cover.
