You should be able to adapt to do Health & Saftey in some form if you have good admin skills and just having that on your CV will get you in for interviews in other jobs too as its a very well respected qualification |

If you have been made redundant can i also recommend speaking to your employer if you are still on your notice period as they may already have received funding to re-train you but not passed it on.

Good point well made. As an example of the benefits of this, I have just returned from doing an audit at a small company. Several of the questions we asked were H&S based.
They didn't have an internal Safety Manager, but a receptionist/secretary/admin clerk managed their H&S Plan & activities.
We asked about her expertise in this area & she said she was in the process of starting her NEBOSH training. We agreed this would benefit her & the company, and it assists us as clients to have someone full time with this qualification. |

There are many different levels to the NEBOSH Health and Safety, I passed the Certificate first and passed the Diploma part 1 and its never really given me any benefits. |

Bad times indeed. All the best over there in Hull, Black and white or Red and white..... I was in same situation in the early 80's. Redundant 3 times in 2 years. Worst feeling in the world.
