If there's a 1% chance of us getting Carney we should go for it. We've been crying out for a quality halfback for what seems like forever. I agree the latest incident isn't great but he's done nothing illegal and nothing that would hurt anyone. If we don't go for him someone else will sign him. If there are people who say they wouldn't have him because of his off the field antics then don't complain when we are still struggling in 2/3 years time. Someone like Carney would have an immediate impact on an average squad like ours.

Some of my favourite players ever liked a tipple, as long as they produce the goods on the pitch I couldn't give a flying.........what they do off it as long as it's within the law.

What Carney did is something I'd personally give a miss! However some of these rugby players are nutcases. I've heard stories from ex professionals that top Carney's by a long way, it's just that back then nobody had camera phones to capture the moment, and even if they did their friends werent big enough dicks to let it get out onto social media and mess up somebody career.
I know he's had problems in the past but he's been better in recent times, and at least with this latest incident there's nothing illegal about what he did (just rather sick!). I agree with the above that if there's any chance, any chance at all, then we should make a move.

If nobody had leaked the pic of Todd then nobody would have even known it happened. That's how bad it was, if there's any chance of us getting him we need to take it.

One more in favour of going for Carney here. I have no idea whether he would get a visa, but he has kept himself out of trouble for the last few years. This latest episode is nothing really in the grand scheme of things. He's not harming anyone and knowing the kind of these players get up I guarantee there are guys already in the team who have done worse.

He's got his problems, all of which seem to stem from alcohol. That doesn't necessarily make him a bad person.

We've got a guy in the team right now who was charged with assault, yet he's a fan favourite.

Speaking as a student, what Carney did is NOTHING compared to some things you see at sports socials.
