I really enjoy long walks especially when they are taken by people I don't like!

Taylor banned (along with loads of players) seems over the top, must need to hit a quota.

The RFL and Disciplinary are going to end up with a sport that has no physical contact if they carry on like they are.To ban Taylor is very harsh for a tackle that had no foul play to it it was just an unfortunate that Jay's leg got caught underneath twisting his ankle. Thankfully it wasn't a serious issue with his ankle and he was able to continue playing later in the game. Yet Romano takes Millers head off who then fails the HIA so misses a game and only receives a £250 from the disciplinary   video of high shot on Miller. Now if that isn't a clear case of dangerous, reckless with direct contact to the head then questions should be asked as to the standards of the Disciplinary Panel and whether its fit for purpose, along with the RFL and the officials that seem to miss these incidents as that one isn't one that was borderline. The disciplinary panel have obviously reviewed that with Romano being charged so to only see fit to give a fine just makes a mockery of the process, no wonder the game is struggling.
Possibly an option to add a couple of the younger players from the likes of Gardiner, Staveley or Laidlaw to the 17 to fill the hole of Taylor and Evans?

Probably be McIntosh at FB too as would imagine the club won't risk Litten unless his ankle is 100% with their safety first approach. Shame that Hoy hasn't recovered in time for the cup game.

Miller definitely out due to HIA. Doubts on the other 2.

Looks like it could be Westerman and McShane in the halves for Cas.

It is good to see Darnell McIntosh shining for the reserves, he does need to rebuild his confidence, which looked shot, of late. Hopefully he'll return to the match day squad with a renewed belief and it can only be a good thing for him and the club. I watched the Cas highlights of the recent home Catalans game. They looked like a team that time has finally overtaken. McShane isn't the same player who tormented the opposition rucks, Watts is hardly the force he was and their backs aren't up-to it, especially if Miller doesn't feature for them. It could be one of those years like 2008, when we got to the final with a team that wasn't really that great, especially when Dykes was injured. A favourable draw could see us within sight of another semi final, providing we treat the Cas game seriously and show the same desire in defence, as we have in the last two games. I think we'll beat them by a couple of scores, if we turn up with the recent attitude shift we appear to have made.

Our reserves would have beaten the Newcastle first team never mind their reserves
If McIntosh didnt stand out at that level then he needs binning

Just needs to get his head down and work hard.

Hopefully Trueman has a big game on his return to Cas. Big game for us. Get through that and hit a bit of form for the QFs who knows.

Totally agree playing Newcastle reserves is probably similar to playing hull dockers or skirlaugh in the grand scheme of things

As for the game we should be putting all eggs in the challenge cup basket

Rest players in super league now for the cup if need be

Cas on paper is the best super league tie apart from wakey so very winnable esp with their confidence shot

I agree the Cup represents our only realistic chance of another final appearance, but the same is true of Cas and so we should take the tie just as seriously as if it was Wigan or Saints.
I do think if we start well, we'll win. Despite their lowly position, they will see us as a game they can win and will have a real crack. If we stick to what we have been doing, we should see this one out and then , with a favourable draw, who knows?

With their form and players out, you would have to be disappointed not to win this, turn up with the same attitude as the last 3 games and we in this, like the Salford game we get beat

For me this has all the ingredients as our meeting at the jungle last year at the beginning of the season against a Cas side that had been poor in the opening 3 rnds of SL, seemingly turned up with poor/wrong attitude in which we bombed the game big style.

Hopeful of a win rather than confident.
