We created several chances and bombed them. We actually created more than we did last week. Some of the individual skill levels were an embarrassment and Westerman needs to understand that all the effort in the world is totally wasted if you can't manage the basics. That's two weeks running now (Catalans) where he's treated possession like it's worthless. Rankin's effort for their first try was way below what was required and despite some good play in the loose his error put us right on the back foot.
Pleased for Abdull that he scored but his kicking and link play were way below what was required from a scrum half (not his position). I'd put him at LF for Westerman on Wednesday and give either HTW or Dean a go at scrum half. Whichever is the better field kicker to be honest.
I think you are right there about giving HTW or Dean a go at 7. If Abdull has a future it has to be loose forward or second row. my thoughts though as Radford is under pressure he will move Rankin into the halfs and bring Shaul back to full back. Westerman and Yeaman will be dropped.
Cas fan here, I thought the effort from your lads tonight was superb. Westerman will never make that many unforced errors in a game again. Leeds played the conditions better and deffo got all the 50-50 calls. less of the doom and gloom and kick on for the top 8
Westy made 6 or 7 handling errors alone. Two of which should've lead to tries. How can Radford be blamed for that? The players ran their blood to water tonight, but their errors cost us.
Radford can be blamed for not taking him off much earlier when it was clear to everyone that he was having a shocker. I'm also intrigued as to what actually went on with Westerman last weekend...it was by far and away his worst FC performance, something has clearly gone on off the field.
and as for 'running blood to water' yes very commendable, but sadly you don't get points on the league table for trying hard everyweek, its not school sports day where you get a gold sticker for being 2nd best.
Does the coach have no part in how the players are mentally prepared for a game? Why do you think individual errors happen? Particularly repeat ones? Who had us playing without mini, paea and watts for over 20 minutes at a time when the game went away from us? Who left westerman on when he couldn't hold onto the ball?
Not all the coach's fault but he certainly needs to shoulder a fair chunk of the blame
Chances were created. Players failed to take them again. Very similar to last week although chances tonight were more clear cut. Radford will need to take some of the blame and at the same time put some of the blame on his players - some of which were pub standard tonight and should return there in time for Wednesday's game.

What's happened to you Ullfc? You used to be a respected poster on here, now it's just close minded nonsense.
We lost against leeds. Leeds were better. Man up. I'll never ever berate a hull fc side who take to the field and try as hard as that. We made errors & we lost against a better side.

Years of being promised better times (by both Hetherington & Pearson) and being seeing a quality side dismantled and top players replaced with repeated bad signings (again under both owners) a succession of unsuitable coaches and a slow-slide down the league table each year has done this to me.
Yes Leeds are a good side, but they where nowhere near top gear tonight, they didn't need to be, they just had to sit back and watch FC's yet again mess it up in a 'big' game.
