Steve on thursday is going for his 8th treatment of his present chemo cycle.

This present cycle has knocked the stuffing out of him for 2 to 3 days afterwards.

He has two more treatments in this cycle.

This weekend is going to be really hard for Steve as he will have his treatment on Thursday and on Sunday it will be the first "mini" challenge cycling from St Helens to Leeds 62.5 miles carrying the match ball. Obviously we will be making sure he will be alright.

Once his chemo cycle is finished Steve will be getting top class fitness training with Leeds Carnegie College and St Helens College were they will measure everyones fitness and nutritional levels.

There is a little bit about the Challenge on this link. An interesting listen and it will provide info on the SPF and RFL Benevolent Fund.

if you go to 2hrs and 16 mins and listen thru you will hear a familiar voice.

Press Release

Prescott to deliver Carnegie Challenge Cup match ball
Steve Prescott will deliver the match ball for the Carnegie Challenge Cup fourth round tie between Leeds Rhinos and St Helens on Sunday 5 April as part of his fundraising challenge.
Following the launch of Steve Prescott’s Carnegie Challenge last week, training has begun for the gruelling endurance test that will test the participants to their limits.
Steve and a star-studded team of ex-professionals rugby league players are preparing for a challenge that will see them cycle 720 mile across France before rowing across the Channel in a dragon boat, a second 60 mile bike ride before finally completing the challenge with a half marathon run to deliver the match ball to Wembley in time for the Carnegie Challenge Cup final in August.
This weekend Steve and six members of the Carnegie Challenge team, including Kris Radlinski and Chris Joynt, will cycle from St Helens College to Headingley Carnegie Stadium in time to deliver the match ball for the mouth-watering Carnegie Challenge Cup fourth round clash between cup heavyweights Leeds Rhinos and St Helens.
The players will begin the challenge at St Helens College, where Saints mascot, Boots, will present Steve with the match ball. They will then cycle the 70 miles across the Pennines before arriving at Headingley Carnegie Stadium where they will be welcomed by Leeds mascot, Ronnie the Rhino and the Radio Aire dance team.
Guy Lincoln, Director of Rugby League Partnerships at Leeds Met Carnegie said: “We are encouraging all supporters to welcome Steve and the team into the stadium at around 2.30pm just in time for the Catalans v Bulls game. There will be opportunities for fans to have their photos taken with the legendary players before they are introduced onto the pitch at 4.00pm, before Steve leads the teams onto the pitch with the match ball.”
Participants in Steve Prescott’s Carnegie Challenge include Paul Sculthorpe, Kris Radlinski, Chris Joynt, Steve Hampson, Gary Connolly, Anthony Sullivan, Steve Prescott, Terry O’Connor, Chris Smith Steve Hall, and Lee Jackson. Jimmy Gittins and Pete Stephenson, who both sustained career-ending injuries, will also take part on a specially adapted quad bike designed to help them complete the challenge.

Walking distance from new ground - so hurry up and build it.

I agree the guy is barking but he's also my hero. I knew him as a kid when his dad played at Salford and I saw him at Salford last year on his last leg of the walk to the Grand Final. He gave my little boy the ball to hold and had a photo taken and my little fella treasures it. He is an inspiration. Although I do think Sully is the most barking being afraid of water. Good luck to all involved.

steve is an insparation to many people,i respected him very much as a player but since i did the boxing and raised all that money plus took part in the walk ive begun to appreciate what a brave couragous guy he is,all what people have done to help him in the past few years he hasnt forgot and now he feels its his turn to do something back.

this challenge seems to be a bit crazy but knowing steve like i do he wont stop till he conquers it.

good luck preckie im sure everyone is right behind ye.
