It actually looked like a meaningful session with a mix of disciplines which is a good start. In the past we've seen a mix of not touching a ball till Christmas, easing our way in, not overdoing the fitness side so we can peak at the right time and a whole host of everything in between.Also great to see him hands on, at the end of the day he's our most experienced coach by far and needs to be on the training pitch and getting his style and culture into them from the off. I hate seeing coaches stood back with their assistant 30 metres away wrapped in tracksuit and bench coat watching wistfully from a distance. Players respond far better to hands on management as in most lines of work.
Really pleased Lasty is there and think he'll learn a lot more which can only aid his development. I do genuinely see Grix as surplus to requirements now. Can see him taking a championship job when a decent one comes up.
