I'm sick of seeing referees stop games to send players back 2 o3 metres. For me you either let play go on or penalise the player. Unless they've changed the rules it should be a penalty from what I can remember. Similar to letting players go back if they got up and carry on running after being tackled

What happened to penalising a voluntary tackle

I concur. Similar when making a pass or offload after the tackle is called. It takes me back to my youth rugby days when the ref/coach would use it as a learning opportunity but these are elite players playing a professional sport!

Walmsley is a lover for it , As soon as he's tackled , he gets up takes a step forward throws his arms in the air to milk a penalty then plays the ball .
