58 going on 59 and his only head coach appointment which was a long time ago ended in the wooden spoon.

What happened to the preference for an English coach or at least someone with experience of Super League? But of course that was last week's policy!

He's old enough to remember your last trophy win. He'll have just left school.

A good appointment from my perspective, and one that I hope finally works out. We need a strong Hull FC in the sport.

Key word is preference. That's not a guarantee.

Had to chuckle to myself, what a kick in the cobblers reply.

No Rovers have won the Clive Sullivan trophy every year for ages now and the power board will not stop until the ultimate reward inevitably arrives.

But I was talking about Hull FC and yet another terrible appointment. I warned you about Smith you wouldn't listen now I am warning you about Cartwright,

He has 'assistant' written all over him.

Massive tick in the box for Myler on this one. On paper, after missing out on Rowley, Cartwright looks to be pretty much the best we could have done.
Up to the club now to make sure he has the staff and resources around him to do what he needs to do.
Great bit of news in my opinion.

I’m probably a bit bitter on missing out on Rowley but if you had the choice between somebody who’s got Salford overachieving or somebody who’s been assistant at some very successful clubs + NSW and previously done well with a newly formed club surely you’d want the latter?
