My two penneth on this is that the we have been generally poor across most areas this season. As for saying half backs can't make lazy forwards get quick ptb's or second rowers to run at pace or centres to run into gaps to some extent that is true.. However there have been numerous times this season that the forwards have indeed laid a platform for the halfbacks and we have not only failed to collect points with large amounts of possession but also not looked like scoring when in the oppositions 20. Without Kelly we seem to have no one in the middle capable of switching the play and adapting to how the game is going, taking on the defence and we were just too one dimensional. This was made more evident when we lost Connor after the International friendly. Its plausible that the fact Reynolds never got a settled run has affected things also but that said they've had enough opportunities in games to have shown more than they have.
So I'd agree that half backs can only do so much but when they've had opportunity they have been lacking though I am not singling them out as I think the performances across the board in terms of the team etc have been below the standard that this team is/was capable of.
If we are to be a team at the top end of the league then this needs addressing as I don't think it unfair to say we simply have no imagination, creativity or genuine threat especially when Connor is not in the team.
Excellent summary, also instead of chucking the baby out with the bath water, we need some more smartness, a Ratchford/Tommy Martin/Mick Crane type player who could link it all together.
Wish some people will realise the half backs cant make lazy forwards get quick play the balls, second rowers to run at pace and centres to run into gaps. There is only so much a half back can do.
For crying out loud.
Brain dead seriousley
Brain dead?? Are you seriously thinking the issue is the forwards? There has been more rotation of players in the forwards in the last few years, yet the half backs are the same. Are you telling me that it is the forwards that are the issue? Have you seen the shocking passes that the forwards get from Sneyd? Lane got given 2 shocking balls against Wigan - proper rib breakers. The only pass Sneyd can do for Ma'u is the drop off as he cant take it to the line and put him into a gap.
I can see both sets of arguments regarding Sneyd , The forwards in some games just haven't cut it this season , We know the drop off in intensity when Satae & Ligi are off the field plus Taylor has hardly played , Bowed ineffective , Fash tries hard but mostly out played against bigger opponents . Sneyd seems to have one good game in four imo , we need a better return than this as we all know our attack is and has been dire for a number of years . The Peats rumor doesn't exactly fill me with joy either but as some have already mentioned , Its a step in addressing one part of many problems we have .
Shame if it ends badly. Was a real favourite in his first spell.
Radford should have never brought him back - especially on the money he is on! I won't say he has tainted his first spell with his performances in this spell, but if we had kept him next year and he was just as bad, then it could have done!
I bet he is regretting getting drunk in Priory now!

Radford was advised against the signing by Andy Last. Shame how it’s ended.
RBA definitely has connections at Hull and Rovers, so this is probably true.
As others have said, it's a real shame for Fonua to finish like this, but he form has just been good enough and to have a quota player on a huge salary who isnt good enough to get into the first 17 is a massive waste of resources.
